Why would we take a guy like Travis Howard? What does he do for us? He's a terrible corner, he wouldn't be a FS, and we have Taylor for SS. Nope. _________________

Nothing, what I want to know is what makes him a top flight QB to you? Because he isn't anything more than a low-end starter. _________________

Just a general comment - you have quite a few juniors going in rounds 3 and 4 and I just don't know that I see those guys declaring if they don't get a higher projection. Just my opinion.
Now to the KC draft :
Quote: | Round One:
1. Kansas City Chiefs // Eugene Smith, QB West Virginia
Round Two:
33. Kansas City Chiefs // Kevin Minter, ILB Louisiana State University
Round Three:
65. Kansas City Chiefs // Logan Ryan, CB Rutgers
Round Four:
97. Kansas City Chiefs // Levine Toilolo, TE Stanford |
I can’t argue with the Geno Smith pick. He isn’t a #1 overall prospect and I am not as high on him as some but we need to add a franchise quarterback.
Jovan Belcher is an adequate starter for the most part but if an opportunity comes along to upgrade the position it has to be considered based on value. Kevin Minter reminds me in some ways of Daryl Washington – a very active inside linebacker that can be used as an inside pass rusher and also has very good sideline-to-sideline range.
We have Stanford Routt as our #2 and I definitely don’t think he is the long term solution opposite Brandon Flowers. Javier Arenas got some playing time on the outside in place of Routt who was out against the Chargers but I think he is better suited covering the slot receiver. Jalil Brown hasn’t developed much beyond a special teamer and might never. That being said, I do think the Logan Ryan pick is a solid one in round 3.
Tony Moeaki doesn’t appear to be fully 100% coming back from injury. He might need a full season to be back to the impact player we saw glimpses of in his rookie year. Or he might never reach the potential he had coming out of Iowa. Kevin Boss was a risky signing considering Moeaki’s situation and he didn’t pan out and might not be back. I really like Levine Toilolo as a developmental prospect. He has the size you look for and knows how to get open. I think he is still fairly raw so there seems to be a nice ceiling.
Now if you give us Fresno State safety Phillip Thomas in round 4 I will be ecstatic! _________________

Vikings have the Lions 4th rounder.
Not a bad Vikings draft. _________________

Pretty solid, but would prefer Robert Lester in round 2 and a right tackle in round 3 - but you have a pretty good grasp on our needs. Nice job. |

So the Cowboys draft all Alabama players and then Matt Barkley in the 4th?
Alright, I'm down. _________________

Really? We pass on Jarvis Jones to pick up a DT? Not in this life time, you better believe we take a monster OLB like JJ. |

love first two rounds
not sure after that...DT isnt that big of a need. Roy Miller has quietly been outstanding this year and big factor in run support. I think another CB or a TE in the third would be better served
like the 4th round pick as well _________________

The Redskins picks are not bad, but would take Rambo instead of Motta in the 3rd. _________________

Good Bills draft, but Barkley won't slip to 4th round.. I could see maybe 2nd but 4th .. Steal for Dallas..
There could be a chance we select 2 OLB's so Mosley and Hodges works |

Cooper to the 3rd and Barkley to the 4th? Reasoning? Barkley IMO is overrated by most but in no way is he getting picked in any round other than the 1st. Cooper is a late 1st-early 2nd. Can't see him getting to the 3rd unless a injury and trouble comes up. _________________

Barkley in the 4th? How??
And I don't see the Cowboys spending a first on a guard - we've taken 1 offensive linemen in the first in the last 30 years and it was a LT. We might take on in the 2nd but very doubtful in the first.
I'd look for an OLB that's strong vs. the run and in coverage if we don't resign Anthony Spencer _________________
