Tampa Bay is bad, definitely a winnable game.
8 NO @ DEN W
This defense is overrated but Peyton Manning will obviously keep them competitive.
9 PHI @ NO W
Vicks been miserable, and this is one of the few OLs we might be able to get pressure against
10 ATL @ NO W
We almost always split with Atlanta.
11 NO @ OAK W
Oakland might be the worst team in the league.
12 SF @ NO L
This game looks much more winnable now, the 49ers offense will lose them games.
13 NO @ ATL L
Slim chance we beat ATL in ATL.
14 NO @ NYG L
Could go either way but JPP will make Bushrod is female dog.
15 TB @ NO W
Tampa Bay still sucks...
16 NO @ DAL W
This team is just a mess and we have a good history against them
17 CAR @ NO W
We aint' losing to this team on our own turf.
That leaves us at 9-7 but we could definitely take one from NYG or SF, we're still alive in the post-season hunt and I'm not giving up hope that we can snag a wildcard. |
I could careless if we lose the rest of our games...As long as we beat Atlanta, I'll consider this season a success. _________________

Atlanta, Denver, and San Francisco. We put them in the dirt, and we can lose every other game, i don't care. _________________

According to Roman Harper we would 5-0 right now if it wasn't for Bountygate _________________

we'd be 5-0 if Brees had went to training camp, even with the defense this bad. I love Brees and you can't really blame him, he's already got a ring, and he has a family to take care of, but holding out for money made him rusty out of the gate(IMHO), and swallowed up too much cap room pay other players who needed paying.
All that being said, Brees has still delivered thus far, and he's the absolute last problem on this team. Other than his shaky start that was still above average for most other QB standards, he's been phenomenal, and off the top of my head, I think he's on pace for somewhere around 48Tds, 5500 yards passing, and 20 int. Hopefully he picks his comp % up too and quits throwin picks.
If this defense even becomes half assed, we'll go 9-7 as long as Brees continues to put up this kind of production. And if our running game gets going like we all know it can, 9-7 is definitely realistic. If we finish any lower than 8-8 I consider the season a failure. The potential is there to be better than .500. This defense is too bad to make any kind of playoffs, and most of us knew that coming into the season, and if not, we quickly found out. 9-7 with this D and Brees putting up historic numbers again is a success IMO. |

While it was a good win, I tend to not overreact after them. Yes the defense improved in some areas but they still gave up over 500 offensive yards to the Buccaneers... THE BUCCANEERS!!!
THis defense can improve somewhat as the season progresses but the only thing that will truly get it over the hump is talent. Getting off to such a slow start is bad news for this team. The early part of the season is where high flying offensive teams need to jump out to a lead because when the latter part of the season comes and the cold weather sets in its going to be a struggle like it always is.
This team will not be able to go on the road in November and December and win... THey cant stop the run and cant run the ball.
While I'm enjoying this win, this still looks to me like a 7-9 to 8-8 team at the end of the day. _________________

Why can't we be in the AFC?
As it stands right now, the only team in the NFC that would make the playoffs RIGHT NOW and doesn't have at least a 5-2 record is the Packers, and they're 4-3.
In the AFC, however, only three of the teams that would make the playoffs right now are even above .500 (Houston, Baltimore, New England). The others (Miami, San Diego, and Denver) would all make it as well, and they're sitting at 3-3...
Any way we can like request a conference change or something...? _________________

9-7
* Denver has a amazing Defense, But not much on off (besides Peyton)
*Vick has a Int. and Fumble problem
*Atl can always go either way, and if the raiders can give them trouble
*Giants play well, but always it can be a shoot out
*Bucs have struggled a bit, but are a physical team
*Cowboys always seem to find a way to loose in the fourth.
*Panthers seem to have their own set of problems
To me 9-7 is not a bad place to be, since the last two superbowl champs were 9-7. If the Saints can get hot at the right time, the would be in great timing to do it before the playoffs. |
You obviously HAVEN'T seen the Broncos at all I'm guessing. Our Defense is a little above average, but the Broncos have the 6th best offense in the NFL. While our running game is only ranked 23rd it is still nine spots higher than the Saints this year. Not gonna say you can't beat the Broncos, it will be a shootout, just sayin' your reasoning is very flawed |

True I have not watched the Denver games. But having losses to Atlanta, Texans, and Patriots. I was just pointing out that If a team and coach find a way to take away Peyton from the game. the team becomes two dimensional at best. Besides the defense and running game. Denver becomes a above average team. I was pointing out that payton makes Denver a better team, not unbeatable. |
