If the playoffs were to start today, its interesting who would be going
1. Houston
2. Baltimore
3. New England
4. Denver
5. Miami
6. Indy
who saw that coming?
in the NFC
1. Atlanta
2. Chicago
3. San Fransico
4. New York Giants
5. Minnesota
6. Green Bay
so who are the most likely to miss the playoffs that are currently in?
in the AFC, i would have to say the Colts and Dolphins slip up and the Steelers and Chargers sneak in
in the NFC i think Minnesota takes a step out and Detroit gets in there _________________

No way the Chargers make it. Steelers and Dolphins seem to be the most likely candidates. _________________ Welcome to Houston, DeAndre Hopkins! |

I don't know about that. Colts, maybe...their D is still beatable, and while Andrew Luck is improving, he's still a rookie prone to make mistakes. Dolphins on the other hand? They run the ball well, they play good defense against the run and pass, they have an athletic QB who can add an element to their run game - I really don't see them slipping up. Not exactly gonna storm past New England in the AFCE, but won't fall off as bad as expected. I'd wager that Baltimore would lose their hold on the AFCN to Pittsburgh before Miami falling out of one of the two WC spots, actually. As far as the Chargers - no thank you. Phillips Rivers has regressed in a horrible way, the defense is average at best, the run game is hot/cold...this team can beat up on bad teams, but you bring in a team that is remotely capable of playing well, they fold. Chargers ain't going nowhere.
Given that, this is how I see it:
1. Houston
2. New England
3. Denver
4. Pittsburgh
5. Baltimore
6. Miami

I don't see Minny making it, but I don't see Detroit filling that spot, either. Minny looks like they can be a contender, but something is missing from them, and that would be the ability to erase a quick deficit. They're on the right track, and they could prove me wrong and sneak in - but I don't see it yet. I don't see Detroit as this team because - well, they're simply not good this year. Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson are both not playing to their potential, and with a team that depended on those two, there's nobody else there to pick up the slack on either side of the ball.
In the NFC, I see Seattle making a late run. Russell Wilson is getting better every outing, Marshawn Lynch is running like a bull in a china shop, the defense is arguably the most physical D in the NFL - should be a recipie to make noise now and in the playoffs as a six seed.
So, that being said:
1. Atlanta
2. Chicago
3. SF
4. NYG
5. Green Bay
6. Seattle _________________
