I miss the days of Dolphins fans completely unrealistic mock drafts and projected free agent signings.

I think we've spent enough high picks on offensive linemen. Lets just tag Long and be done with it. Find a playmaker for cornerback, wide receiver, tight end or something in the pass rush. We're at a point where we should be completely serious about the BPA thing.

Couldn't disagree more. Don't forget what this offense is supposed to look like. The roll outs and screens, deep play actions and other things that are missing are because we still have linemen playing out of position in terms of scheme. This is an offense that when run at full speed is designed for 500 yards of offense every week. And the WRs are not what's keeping us from this. I can stomach tagging long for now. But adding a couple of guards that can play multiple positions on the line is just what this offense needs.
As far as WRs go, we desire intelligence. You see the only thing that keeps WRs off the field for us is knowledge of the offense. I'm not advocating us ignoring the aspect of speed but it's not first priority.

Fellow Posters: I beg that you not misunderstand my level of arrogance. My handle is an implication of Dolphin study not necessarily Dolphin expertise.

FA: Although some say we have more, I'm going to guess we will have about 40 million to spend on FA this year.

Jake Long 5 yr 51.5 million. Ryan Clady turned down a 5 yr 50 million dollar this past off-season, I think Jake, with his digressed play this season will accept this offer.

Sean Smith 4 yr 34 million His agent David Canter tweeted he was looking for 8-9 per season, Omar Kelly said he was worth about 7.5, in an over priced market, I believe we bite the bullet and hold on to Sean.

Brian Hartline 5 yr 32.5 million maybe we are overpaying him here, but about 6.5 million a yr for a guy who works his tail off, has become a fan favorite and has proven us all wrong time and time again I think he is worth it. He enters as a #1 in time he can fill Bess' role in the slot.

Okay no need to panic, the big spending is over.

Reggie Bush 3 yr 12 million Reggie has been great for us, his leadership and star-power alone should warrant him a spot on the team. Some say this contract isn't enough well Sproles signed a 4 yr 14 million dollar contract, I think it is fair for both sides.

Dustin Keller 3 yr 8 million Keller finally gives us a seam threat TE(not to mention one that has haunted us for YEARS) we've been looking for for years. Fasano has been solid and it would be sad to see him go so....

Anthony Fasano 2 yr 4.5 million Many of you are probably rolling your eyes now. Fasano has been an important and underrated part of this team for years (the trade Ireland orchestrated for him was brilliant BTW). I am not one to throw Egnew to the wolves so quickly- Finley was extremely unproductive his rookie season so I think there is still hope for him, but Philbin was known for its surplus of TEs in GB, so the trio of Keller, Fasano, and Egnew and the H-back flex play of Clay could be scary.

Jason Jones 2 yr. 9.5 Its sad to see Starks walk away but I think he will leave for better money else where. Jones provides a DE/DT versatility, and brings some pass rush.

Louis Delmas 1 yr 3 million Clemons is replaces by the talented Delmas. Delmas would be looking for a big payday but cannot seem to stay healthy. IF, and it is a BIG if he can stay healthy, we could have a veryyy good group of safeties.

It you simply added the #s and divided by the yrs signed you would see i spent about 41 million leaving an estimated 9 for draft picks, of course real life is much more complex and complicated this would give us an idea on what is possible. It may not be the most exciting signings, but hey.

I have stated before that Smith iis gonna want to break the bank and we will not come to terms on that right away and its Sean Smith who gets a 1 year franchise tag kinda of like ok you are so good lets see you do it 2 years in a row
