Pro Bowl voting has started. so we may as well start the discussion...which members of the Purple will be headed to the Pro Bowl?
I know there will be some very popular choices (both players have a 2 on their jersey), but who could be some surprises? _________________

Thursday's primetime game will determine who goes to the Pro Bowl on the Vikings' roster. _________________

Adrian Peterson (RB)
Percy Harvin (WR or KR)
Matt Kalil (LT)
Jared Allen (DE)
Kevin Williams (DT) Name recognition?
Chad Greenway (SLB) Name recognition?
Antoine Winfield (CB) Name recognition?
Blair Walsh (K) - Zurlein seems to have more hype and nicknames |

I think Matt Kalil is a lock. Fan voting for LTs is always name recognition and there simply arent that many recognizably great LTS in the NFC. The AFC is loaded with big name LTs, but the NFC has maybe Joe Staley and Donald Penn. Kalil is a lock and should be for a long time. |

I think people care more about Miss USA than they do the Pro Bowl _________________

^You know, I always hear that no one cares about the Pro Bowl. Most of my friends do not bother with it and consider the game a joke of sorts, and in a way it is because there are no stakes. But I always try to tune in. There's something that really appeals to me about the All-Stars of the NFL all playing on the same field at the same time - more so than in any other sport, NBA included. _________________

they really should stop with the charade of calling it an actual game though. They should bring back the skills competitions, maybe play some flag football. Do things that kids can do at home that will get them excited about football.
It is cool to see all the stars playing, but it isn't a real game and they shouldn't pretend it is. _________________

I hardly think name recognition is the only reason... _________________

Id like to know how many of Greenways tackles are 5 yards downfield...I think he is one of the most overrated players on our team....cant cover a pass, not physical at point of attack, gets lost in zone coverage...hes not horrible by any means...definetly solid...but all pro not in my opinion...could name a bunch of guys better than him
Patrick willis,Navarro Bowman, Lance Briggs, Brian urlacher, Deandre Levy, Sean lee(just got Hurt)..james laurinitis...thats just off top of my head |

I didn't state my predictions, but here are mine:
DE Jared Allen
RB Adrian Peterson
WR Percy Harvin (if he doesn't get in as a WR, he'll certainly get the returner nod)
OT Matt Kalil
C John Sullivan
CB Antoine Winfield
S Harrison Smith
LB Chad Greenway and DT Kevin Williams will get consideration as well, but I don't think they'll make it. _________________

I would not take Levy over Greenway, and Briggs is the only other linebacker on your list that is an outside linebacker. Willis, Bowman, Urlacher, Lee, and Laurinaitis are all middle linebackers.
The only Outside Linebackers in the NFC that I would take over Chad Greenway would be Sean Weatherspoon and Lance Briggs. _________________
