| Donald Brown had surgery for a torn ligament in his knee and will miss 2-3 weeks Robert Mathis has a sprained knee that will sideline him for 2-3 weeks as well. I'll post a link and some commentary when I can |

Donald Brown actually had torn cartillage not a ligament thus not as severe and why he isn't expected out longer.
We've seen the defense with Mathis and Redding but not Freeney and in some instances even without Redding. Last Sunday we seen the defense with all 3. Now we will get a chance to see the defense with Freeney and Redding but not Mathis. I'm interested to see how this plays out. I don't believe that Mathis is ineffective I just think that Freeney commands more attention on an everydown basis.
I do want to see how Vick Ballard handles the lead back duties. If he does well we might not see Delone Carter back next year. I don't think Mewelde Moore will be back anyways. |

I think that our defense will get killed without Mathis. From the little I've seen this year, Mathis has done well whereas Freeney hasn't in the 3-4. As for the RB part, I don't believe there will be too much of an impact, in the way that our running game is already terrible, and the lack of Brown will not make much of a difference IMO. _________________

I agree that without Mathis we will not be as good on Defense and it could look pretty bad. I have been wrong before though.
I am actually really excited about seeing what Ballard can do. I am an Arkansas fan so I am familiar with Ballard from his days at MS State. He isn't an explosive guy but should provide a hard nosed edge with the extra carries. _________________

I think we really saw what these two guys meant to the team on Sunday. Defense and run game where garbage.
Hughes was alright, but behind him there was nothing. |

I know Freeney has been battling an ankle injury. So I assume his snaps will be limited this week.
Jerry Hughes has been nice though. _________________
