Texans DE Tim Jamison has been diagnosed with a torn Achilles' tendon, and is done for the season.
Jamison went down in a heap in Sunday night's loss, so the news isn't a surprise. Jamison is a reserve, but was signed to a two-year extension in September, and perhaps being groomed as a future starter. He'll finish 2012 with one tackle and three sacks. It's not a guarantee he'll be ready for next summer's camp, but that should be the case.

Indeed. Next man up!
Have we decided who we are going to sign as a backup DE? As of right now we only have Crick. _________________

I would bring up Fangupo. Mitchell was already rotating at DE and he fits better physically than at NT. _________________

Yeah it's going to be a practice squader:

The Houston Texans are signing former Ravens defensive tackle Lamar Divens to the practice squad, according to a league source. |
Homer aside, I am hoping it is David Hunter that gets called up from the practice squad. _________________

Based on the Kubes presser yesterday, they like David Hunter a lot. I imagine it will be him. _________________ Welcome to Houston, DeAndre Hopkins! |

Probably only signed Divens to find out info on the Ravens D. _________________

| From what I've heard and read about Achilles injuries, when Demeco had his, this can not only be season ending but also career threatening. I've read that it takes a very long time to come back from and that even if a player makes it back they're usually slower or less explosive than they were before. I'm guessing that for a big guy who relies on his explosiveness this could be the end for him. I sure hope not. Anyone here know more about this type of injury? |

Hate to see this one.. dude's constantly improving his game. I really hope he can come back from this one and continue his progression. _________________

More and more teams are going to double Watt and Smith(the Packers doubled both constantly in the 2nd half and Watt saw extra attention all game long) which I think only increases the need for having good backups. This is a loss(nevermind Jamison's awesome blocking on kick returns). So far I haven't been too impressed with Crick so I would rather have Earl Mitchell spend more time at Defensive End. _________________ Stop slobbering over Brian Dawkins |
