Ruud is going to get killed in a 3-4 defense. That guy is soft.

And you thought it was bad in a 4-3 defense.. hopefully he sees the field as much as possible.

Pretty sure he could still tackle Chris Johnson, who appears even less willing to initiate contact than Ruud.

Barrett Ruud wouldn't even be able to get past Fernando Velasco to get to Chris Johnson.

Why did the Texans cut him? I thought I remembered him going off in preseason?

Has done nothing in the regular season. And it's not like he can do anything but return kicks.

Because he's terrible.

He did, but NONE of that carried over to the Regular Season. Guy quickly became a liability, always looking to make a big play and costing the Texans chunks of yards in field position. I don't think the Texans started a drive beyond the 20 in the Jets game last week, save for punts that carried out of the endzone or forced turnovers...

The Ruud signing benefits every other team that faces the Texans.

Ruud at the least offers better coverage than any other option we have.

Ruud offers nothing but frustration. Missed tackles, bad reads, and can get blocked by a slot receiver. Guy is as soft as cashmere.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Ruud beat out career backup Tim Dobbins... but this has disaster written all over it. cushings injury will have the same effect on Houston's D as it did when Urlacher went out in 09'. He is the leader of that entire team.
