Key Battles:
Run offense: With the Raiders having an extra week to prepare coming off their bye week, could this be the game the rushing attack gets going, or will it be more of the same? The Falcons run defense ranks 27th in yards per game (142), and 31st on yards per carry (5.4), so they've been struggling.
Pass defense: The Raiders pass defense has been getting torched this season. With Huff and Lee still starting at CB, expect more of the same going up against the red hot Falcons passing attack, lead by early MVP candidate Matt Ryan. Tony Gonzalez is on pace for over 1,200 yards and 13 TD's. Branch needs to bring his A game or he'll get picked on. _________________

The offense might be fine this week, but the defense is going to get absolutely torched. It's going to be a rough game. _________________

The thread subject has me sad. Not because it shows how bad ATL is against the run, but because the Raiders won't gash the run D like they should. I mean, what are we 32nd in the league in rushing? Not like we have a huge favorable match up here.
Even if we CAN score points this Sunday, our Defense is due a BBQ this Sunday. _________________

Yup. That puts the pressure on the Raiders offense to keep up. If they don't, they'll be forced to abandon the run game, making the offense one dimensional like it's been most of the season. We need to get McFadden going. _________________

Quote: | Oakland's best running back is healthy for a change, but he's not producing. His 201 yards on the season have come in games where the Raiders have averaged 2.3, 1.6, 5.7 and 3.5 yards per carry, respectively. They also rank last in the NFL with 71 carries (New England's up-tempo offense, by comparison, has 191). |
dam 71 carries? _________________

That is our best case scenario.
Remember when we played Green Bay last year? That's how I feel this game will turn out.
We are coming off of a bye though, I just have no faith in this defense coupled with Knapp's offense. _________________

Lol I'm pretty sure we will score more than 7 points but I'm anticipating Qiontorris Jones going straight HAM. And Roddy white for that matter. _________________

Lets see how this goes if the Raiders can get a win there is allot of winnable games coming up.
Below is from Rotoworld
Coach Dennis Allen indicated the Raiders spent a lot of time tweaking the rushing attack over the bye week.
The Raiders aren't going to overhaul the zone-blocking scheme, but they're determined to get their best player on track. The softest run defense McFadden has faced to this point has been the vaunted Steelers. This week's opponent, Atlanta, is ranked 27th in run defense, allowing 5.4 yards per carry. |
