So there was a topic on ESPN First Take today that was discussing Willie Colon on saying the Eagles were taking cheap shots.
This is the second player on a AFC North team that has called our team out for cheap shots. (Ray Rice, Week 3)
I was wondering what you guys think 1) Are we a cheap shot team? 2) Are teams just shocked at our physicality? 3) Fake tough or is it real toughness?
Which leads me to wonder does the D now gain respect or lose it if they continue to do what they've been doing? _________________ Meow |

I think we've played more diry then we're used to seeing, but nothing outrageous. I think Colon was the player that Tapp pushed after the play, could lead to him saying that. _________________

A player from a team that was penalized on two straight helmet-to-helmet hits calling us "dirty," yeah, that's a good laugh. _________________

Yea we have been more aggressive, but wouldn't call us dirty. I find the hypocrisy of those two teams calling us dirty amusing. The Steelers weren't as bad as they usually are but the Ravens were the ones twisting Shadys leg to injury him. This is no longer the bend but don't break defense. Juan want them to punch the other team in the mouth and get a 3 & out....with that has come a harder edge. _________________

I'll gladly take on the "dirty" moniker that both the Ravens and the Steelers defense has inherited as long as our D plays physical and as well as the Ravens and Steelers D has played historically. _________________

I think the Eagles have been more physical this year.
Part of it was early in the season when the replacement refs were in there.
Some teams took advantage of that and the Eagles were one.
I was genuinely disappointed when I read the Pittsburgh game day thread and found such an enormous amount of whining.
Philadelphia football is physical.
Pittsburgh football is physical.
Football in general is supposed to be physical.
The Eagles got away with some pass interferences last week and so did the Steelers. So what?
Was it one for one. I don't know. Maybe. Maybe, not.
I was glad to see Eagles fans not hooting and hollering about lack of holding calls.
There were some that were not called on the Steelers and some not called on the Eagles.
Again, was it even? I just cannot say.
I think the AFC North has lost a little of its edge.
Suggs is out. Polamalu is out. Harrison's been out. Woodley is banged up. And frankly, a lot of guys are just getting older.
The Steelers and Ravens just aren't dominating in the physical fashion in which they are accustomed.
Nobody likes getting old or being hurt and unable to do all of the things you used to do as well as you used to do them.
So, blame the other guy. |

Harder and tougher, but not dirty. I like it thought, we managed to PO the two toughest teams the past decade. _________________

| Yes, they're very dirty. They're constantly play through the whistle and taking little cheap shots. Perfect example is Kurt Coleman taking Brown's shoe and throwing it and stepping on Pouncey's back. We're a cheap shot defense and I love it. |

I wouldn't say that's dirty, Brown had to go to bench, Kurt was just doing him a favor. And to be fair, if he hadn't Brown might stayed on the field and put on his shoe. _________________

Calling someone dirty is basically them having an excuse for getting beat. _________________
