I think I read in this thread he's nursing a groin injury so Powell seems like the likely starter next wk right? But he left the game last wk too? Confusing situation to me right now and the best option to me seems like trade for Ivory or sign Slaton.
Asking cuz I have Forte then Reggie on byes the next 2 weeks and my backup is BJGE. Don't mean to be insensitive lol |
I would not start a Cardinals RB. Don't know how many carries they will get, don't know how effective they are going to be. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Thanks. Suppose I'll roll with BJGE and hope he does better than Week 5. Boy, was that ever ugly. _________________

A soon to be 28 year old back is NOT worth a 1st round pick.
I wouldn't give 1 notch over a 3rd round pick. _________________

I wouldn't give 1 notch over a 3rd round pick. | Which is exactly why he'll never be traded. He's worth more then a 1st to the Jags but no other team would offer more then a 2nd rounder IMO. Aging RB's are just not worth much at all. _________________

I don;t believe that. If that were true, Kahn would have paid up. _________________

MJD Is worth a 1st, even at 28.
He is top 5 RB in the league and will give you 4 good years.
That is a worthy pickup for a 1st really, least you know he can play, rather than hope he pans out. |

What makes you think a 28 year old who has had 1700 touches in his career will be able to hold up for four years? He has been a great runner but that can't last forever and his knees have already started to show signs of slowing down. Trading a 1st for someone who has nowhere to go but down is a horrible idea. _________________

Show me the last seasons in which a 31 and 32 year old RB gave you 1200+ yards at 4.5 YPC, Since 1980, only 5 players aged 31 or older as of Decemeber 31st of the year they played (so could have played most of the season at 30 and then turned 31 on the 30th of decemebr) have ever posted a year of 1200+ rushing yards at better than 4.5 YPC and it has NEVER been done by a player who was 32 or older on the 31st of December of the year they achevied the feat.
For reference the 5 backs that have done it, Fred Taylor, Walter Payton, Tiki Barber, Curtis Martin and James Brooks. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Nevermind the 2-4 years argument, a 1st round pick who only plays 4 years for your team is an incredible waste. _________________

Depends on the player & situation. MJD for 4 years is too much to give for that position. A top 5 tackle for 4 years would be a steal for us. I'm not comfortable just signing some scrub like Thomas Jones or Steve Slaton. There's a reason those guys are unemployed. Give the Bills a mid rounder for Jackson who's under contract thru the 14-15 season. We CANNOT make it thru this season without a LEGIT back. _________________
