He's such a great kid, to have this happen two years in a row is pretty sickening HOWEVER, the on-field affects of this are being completely overblown. Williams did next to nothing for us on the field. 2-something a carry, about a half dozen catches, 0 TDs, 2 crucial lost fumbles that could have and likely should have cost us 2 wins. I think Williams is talented enough to have kicked it in gear going forward but in terms of what we're losing with this injury from the first 5 weeks of the year, the answer is truly....nothing. |
Who is going to be starting this week? Howling didn't play last week and he would be the starter if healthy right? |
He'd be the starter yeah but he can't hold up over more than a dozen or so carries. We'd use a combo of LSH, William Powell and Alfonzo Smith, along with whoever we decide to bring in. _________________

The Cards can't get a break with the RB position. When was the last time they had a scary good RB on their team??? _________________

AC joint. Needs surgery. |
It's weird that we both lost offensive starters in that game to nasty shoulder injuries.

lol.. That's a steal for a premium back with 3-4 years left. |
He has 2 good years left IMO. You obviously know RB's shelf life is short. Look at S-Jax.
Jags are going nowhere with MJD. Last in offense last season and through five games our offense is the worst in league. I'll take a 3rd round pick for MJD easily.
If MJD was available, Cards need to pounce on him. |
Any chance you can offer that deal up to the Rams? I'll do my best to make sure they take it. _________________

The Cardinals really should look into acquiring Chris Ivory. I'm sure the Saints would give him away at this point. _________________

I really wanna see what Powell can do, I think he can be a pretty good back if given the chance. _________________

Another guy I wouldn't mind seeing the Rams look into dealing for. He'd pair well with D-Rich. _________________

Please, I hope a team overpays for Toby Gerhart!
I'd love to get a 3rd for him. He's nothing special, and I'm probably the only Vikings fan that doesn't like him, but he can't be that bad!
That, plus I want to see Jordan Todman make the team! _________________

If Peterson didnt tear his knee last year, I would move Gerhart if the price was right. Right now, I dont think MN can afford to risk losing a backup like Gerhart, who has been productive (outside of the 49er game). |

Really brutal loss. Not so much from a production standpoint(although he was great in the Eagles game), but because they already had their #1 out on IR.
I know a lot of people are talking about getting someone else in there, but honestly, I have to point out the elephant in the room: the offensive line. No one is going to succeed there in the running game until that line gets under control. Let's say you give up a draft pick to acquire someone, and then they get injured, too, because of the horrid run blocking? A wasted draft pick that could have helped strengthen the offensive line in the offseason and you still don't have a run game.
Pick someone off the streets, literally, if you have to. You just need someone to keep the defense honest and open up the play action. _________________

So your advice to them would be to literally just choose any random schlub off the streets? Someone who hasn't even played in the league before? _________________

To be honest, I don't think the Saints know what they have in Chris Ivory. Really underrated back. He is the definition of a power back. _________________
