playing around.. had an extra few minutes sitting on the couch...
Browns: #1 pick in the draft.
Owner: Haslam
PFO: Banner
- Holmgren retires
GM: Heckert
- Heckert's draft is seem as strong enough to keep his job, however Banner makes it known that he will have his hand in Free Agency.
HC: Childress
- Steps into the HC position bring a large amount of experience, and keeps the majority of current staff in place
DC: Jauron
- Jauron's success on defense and his interest in staying at this position, keeps him in control of the defense.
OC: Kevin Sumlin
- I would love to see a more dynamic offense brought in. Sumlin's offense is a more attacking style that retains much of the current systems.
#1. QB, Geno Smith
- By far the #1 pick. With Weedon struggling to transition to the NFL game, passing on an ELITE QB prospect is not in the cards.
2nd. WR, Josh Gordon
3rd. CB, Jordan Poyer
4th. WR, Da'Rick Rogers
5th. OG, Braden Hansen
6th. RB, Chris Thompson
7th. OT, LaAdrian Waddle
7th. S, John Boyett |

Liked the first two picks (not including Gordon). Hated the rest of the draft _________________

So, because Weeden is "struggling" its an automatic that another rookie can come in and produce?
What happens if we draft Smith and he tanks the first few weeks? Draft another QB?
At the moment, if we pick one, you trade down. All day. _________________ 2013 First Ballot Recipient of the Joe Blackburn Award |

I'd normally agree, except that Weeden is 29 years old _________________

My only "unless" on this reasoning is if someone gives us a decent amount for Weeden. _________________

Hate is not a strong enough word.
Not enough FS

Not going to be critical of anybody drafting Smith or trading down with the number one pick. Actually I like the first three picks but we might be better off picking a def. end or safety in the fourth round unless we sign both in free agency. Without a second rounder I could see Haslim telling our g.m. to sign one good free agent especially if we plan to draft Smith at q.b. _________________ browns and indian fan 7272

hate is such a strong word.
Im not committed to any of these guys of course, just a rough draft, but they have some positives...
Im glad you like Da'Rick Rogers. I think the kid could be a great pick up. Great talent but raw, and has some off field (maturity) issues. He is very much in the mold of Little and Gordon.
Guard, Braden Hansen did pretty good against Lotulelei. Shows promise with the big boys he would face in the afc north.
Chris Thompson is a rb with simply speed speed speed. Something the team lacks.
LaAdrian Waddle has the size, and multiple years starting in the Big 12. He is a backup left tackle and right tackle prospect.
John Boyett was productive at safety and has good potential but ripped his knee and missing his senior season. We safety depth and we know heckert likes guys with bad knees. haha
-- but in the 7th if the kid doesnt make it what is the loss? |

Cant address every need in one draft with any realism.
Free agency is something this team needs to use to plug holes in the roster and use the draft to pick up bpa. |

Id love to pick up a starting safety in the draft, but its either that or a #2 CB. This is where FA is going to have to come into play...
DE would be great to address, but it looks like the best spot to take one is in the first... and Im taking Geno over the crop available at this point.

I know that may change things, but the guy needs to get at least a year to show what he can do. Making judgment after 5 games isn't a great way to go about it. Even one year is kind of rough.
Didn't Peyton Manning go 2-14 or 3-13 his rookie year? then 13-3 the next?
It took 3 years for Stafford to blow up. Rams are still hanging on with Bradford.
I guess the question needs to be, is Geno Smith the next Andrew Luck/RG3? _________________ 2013 First Ballot Recipient of the Joe Blackburn Award |

You could address more needs if you weren't wasting picks on positions we don't need. _________________

Manning and Bradford were #1 draft picks...
Is Smith as good as RG3/Luck? I say yes!! If all three came out together I would give Luck the edge for #1 (pro-style offense), Geno #2 because he is a better passer, RG3 because he is a better runner. but of course its early... it will be interesting to see how the rest of the season pans out.

like what?
1st - bpa
2nd - already on the team
3rd - #2 CB, one of the biggest needs on the team
4th and later are depth, rotational, and developmental players
You dont expect to get starters in the second half of the draft do you? |

Good point. I am pretty sure that this is what some of our 'more seasoned' members are eluding to when they think a lot of the members here are young (no disrespect). And lemme say that opinions are opinions and I am not saying my theories are always accurate per say. But eventually when you have seriously watched the Browns for about 20+ years, you will see why this "draft, give it a year, turn it over" is just ridiculous.
Granted Brees was pretty darn good when SD traded him to New Orleans, but do you think the Chargers regret drafting Philip Rivers and trading away Drew Brees?? (and I am not comparing Brees to Weeden so hit the skids on that)
Furthermore, if Cam Newton struggles and takes the Panthers to a top 3 pick in the NFL draft next year, do you just scrap him and draft Geno or Barkley if you are Carolina? _________________
