So I was thinking of my top 10 qbs list of all time....
1. Montana
2.Manning
3. Unitas
4. Brady
5. Dan Marino
6. Steve Young
7. John Elway
8. Brett Favre
9. Roger Staubach
10.????
When I realized Drew Brees belongs in the top 10.
His stats look comparable to Brady's. He has been great in the playoffs, even won a Super Bowl. And has also been the most accurate quarterback of the last 20 years. Also, the guy just makes it look so easy.
Im not sure that other people have made this same realization but Im pretty sure I am of the minority to think this. |

He is surely a first ballot hall of famer IMO. I think I'll know for sure where among the great QBs of all time when he retires. I think he will surely be in the conversation at the least. |

I don't think John Elway is a top 10 all time QB but maybe that's just me. |

He's a weird case. He has the statistics of a top 5 qb in the history of the sport but something stops me from saying he's automatically a top 10 qb |

Brady is the GOAT. 5 Super Bowls, 3 wins, 2 others blown by the defense. Elite stats, incredible clutch play. Greatest pocket passer of all time. Married to Gisele Bunchen. He is the GOAT. _________________ A sunny disposition is worth more than fortune. Many feel this way, it's not just you. I personally don't understand it, and feel he's a top 5 QB ever at the very least, but I'll just leave it at that. Let's keep the thread revolved around Brees. _________________

I really don't think Brees has much argument at all for this.
(no order)
1. Otto Graham
2. Peyton Manning
3. Tom Brady
4. Dan Marino
5. Joe Montana
6. Brett Favre
7. Bart Starr
8. Johnny Unitas
Are all in my opinion without a doubt better, then you have Staubach, Young, and Elway who I'd all take over him. And maybe even Aikman and Jim Kelly.
Then there's Aaron Rodgers who, unless something freaky happens, will surpass him. And if Eli, Rivers, and Big Ben all keep it up until their late 30's, I'd say their all above him as well. |

Any top QB list that doesn't provide mention of Sonny Jurgensen is wrong. _________________

I don't know if he'd be in my top 15, 17-20 maybe. _________________

I don't know. I feel like stats have been unfairly inflated towards today's QB. I don't think there's really a fair way of evaluating it all unless you're old enough to have seen so many of these guys play. I'm not. I try to find what I can and I've seen isolated games of many guys but that only does so much. _________________

Biggest problem with trying to find good footage of the really old Greats is that they are mostly just highlight reels
Not exactly a great barometer to go off of

Irrelevant.
As for this thread, you can make this argument. _________________

But that's your opinion.
I also enjoy how you claim his defense blew 2 super bowls for him but fail to acknowledge that his defense also carried him to 2. |
