6 of the 7 teams you listed are NFC teams. Pretty interesting.
Kinda weird not seeing at least one of the Steelers or Ravens on a list like this. _________________ IN THE BAY AREA WE SMOKE PHILLIES |

28 vs Jets
35 vs KC
24 vs CLE
28 vs NE
That is, through four weeks, 28.75 PPG.
They then came out this vs vs the 49ers and put up three points, three.
That 49ers defense has also held a pair of hihgly explosive offenses in the Packers and Lions to 22 and 19 points respectively. When you combine that with what they did last year and I have to put SF up the top still.
With the Texans you had a rookie in his first ever start so you are going to get a guy who is very nervous and not producting his best football (Seen it first hand, Arizona has played a rookie in week one each of the last three seasons), though the D did pretty well vs the Phins. They only really established QB they have faced in Peyton Manning they gave up 23 points and that included 89 and 80 yard touchdown drives.
I still like Arizona on the same level as Seattle and Chicago on a tier just below the Texans and 49ers, but whatever they decided to do over their past two games they need to stop and go back to what worked in weeks 1-3. They started giving up big plays all over the place (44 yards to Amendola, 51 yards to Givens, 80 yards to Hartline (Blown Coverage), 57 yards to Hartline)
But before they they had dealt well with both the Patriots and the Eagles offensively.
Best defense in the league, I would not hestiate to go with the 49ers, behind them is a bit of a mixer that involves a good few teams. |
And GB had a punt return for a TD so they only scored two TDs against the Niners. _________________

I'll give you my verdict after we play San Fran. Came away from Arizona and Seattle feeling that both were still very good to great defenses but weren't as stout as Chicago's D. _________________

Got away with some DPI/DH calls today but still stifled the Steelers. I've yet to see an offense they haven't handled thus far this season. |
I couldn't imagine what this defense would look like or have produced the last 5 games had the offense not turned the ball over 13x? I mean for as much praise people are throwing SF, Hou, (rightfully so), Sea, Chi, AZ, etc.... I wonder what they would have done if placed in the same circumstance? It's a shame really that the Eagles offense and defense can't seem to be able to play well at the same time. It's always a Either or with them. What thye are doing after constantly being handcuffed by TO is actually pretty amazing. _________________

They haven't given up a passing TD since week 2 and have given up a total of 2 all season. They have held Calvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall and Larry Fitzgerald all TD less. _________________

If the Ravens (this year) are being called "Very good", I can call the Rams "very good" |

The biggest issue I have with the Eagles D is that outside of facing Weeden week one, they have struggled to create turnovers, three created in four games since. _________________

I can understand that and it's a valid point. However when the opposing offense usually has a short field to work with it does make it a liitle harder to get those turn overs. It's not like teams are always starting from the 20 and having to go 80 to score when the Eagles ST can't seem to tackle and or TO lead teams to start from midfield. I'm not suggesting they are the best but given the situations they have been put in numerous times by TO or ST, it's amazing what they've done if people look closer. Give any of the other Defenses mentioned 13+ TO to dig out of and our inept tackling on ST and their numbers and being scored upon would be drastically different. I will add 3 of those 4 games you mentioned were against arguably top 10 QB like Eli, Ben and Flacco. Having none against Kolb there is no excuse, I do agree. _________________
