Everyone is fooling themselves i they think ANY runningback is going to produce getting hit every down in the backfield. I know Jackson is old, but imo its foolish to play this off as if his age has been the problem.
I'd love to bring him back at a reduced price. He's a ram through and through, he doesnt belong in any other uniform... _________________

Le'veon Bell reminds me a lot of a slightly more athletic Legarrette Blount.... _________________

His lack of burst is the problem. He's not hitting the LOS fast enough. You put MJD, Lynch or Peterson in our backfield and they're producing at a higher level. They aren't tearing it up as the OL isn't good but they're still doing a lot more than SJ. _________________

Im not gonna say they wouldnt do better, but lets use last week: They are going to truck Wagner, regain speed, shake another defender that got there after all this time and then do something? Sorry but I dont see it. Then when Sjax gets in the endzone in two different games, its called back. Its laughable at this point.
The redskins game was the one game he was getting blocking, and he was about to go off for 120+ Yards on them. Burst isnt going to help you when you touch the ball and you have a defender in your face with no running lanes. Even against the seahawks when he got decent blocking he was busting off a run or two.
This was the same crap that was said two years ago, we get better blocking the next year and what do you know, sjax is suddenly looking good again..had he not been injured he would have ran all over the giants, eagles and redskins last year inflating his numbers. _________________

this running back class is really weak.
not one first rounder.
the new lattimore looks rusty. no way he is a first round pick right now.
i really like joseph randle, oklahoma state. third or fourth round. _________________ i hate the 49ers. i do. |

There were multiple plays last week where Jackson had a seam with one man to beat and couldn't do it. There were other times when a hole was there but Jackson didn't get there quick enough or was tripped up in the hole.
I'm not saying Jackson is getting much help, in fact, I'm saying the opposite. I'm saying that the OL doesn't sustain blocks well and it doesn't work with Jackson's current skill-set. Jackson is like a tractor trailer, he isn't going to beat you out of the blocks but once he gets up to full speed, he's got some wheels and a whole lot of power. Issue is that with his lack of burst and our OL not sustaining blocks, he rarely has a chance to get up to speed. It's why he doesn't really fit what we need right now. Obviously, we need to improve the OL but I think we also need a new HB. Plus Jackson isn't worth 7 million dollars next year.
I still think Jackson could be great on a team like GB or NE because their passing offenses keep defenses honest and he'd have the time to get up to speed and the seams to hit. But he's just not working out for us anymore. Time to go younger. _________________

Lattimore isn't rusty, he's not yet fully healthy.
And, I'd still stay he goes late 1st right now. Too much talent and all around ability even with his injury history. _________________

^ Ok I can completely understand that logic. Just been hearing alot of people telling me he sucks now and its frustrating.
I would cut myself if he went to the patriots. He has my blessing to go to the lions, giants, steelers or maybe the broncos...not that means anything... _________________

I dont think that is gonna affect his play much. He gives it his all every play no matter. 150% effort every play |
Completely off topic, but you could probably get El Ramster to resize that sig for you and be able to actually have the picture show, using the [img][/img] tags. |
Thanks man, forgot all about the sig lol _________________

The old horse still showed he still can..
But man he is so slow now and falls on
the first hit. He was Marshawn on roids in his
prime. _________________

He wasnt falling on first hit out there. He was running hard, He pushed the whole cardinals team on one run. He just got through a bruta stretch of defenses and should be 100% going forward. _________________

The pile was nice.. But most of the hits he took on first contact he went down. He also runs out of bounce more. No shame, a warrior he gave it his all.. It's like seeing Marshall suck. You don't want to believe it but it's there. _________________
