Welp, here it goes. It's October again and it's been another crazy season in major league baseball. I'll save the rant for discussion, so here's my projections:
AL Wild Card Game:
Baltimore defeats Oakland (faces Texas in ALDS)
NL Wild Card Game:
Atlanta defeats St. Louis (faces Washington in ALDS)
ALDS:
Yankees defeat Tigers (3-1)
Baltimore defeats Texas (3-2)
NLDS:
Cincinnati defeats San Francisco (3-2)
Washington defeats Atlanta (3-1)
ALCS:
Baltimore defeats New York (4-2)
Cincinnati defeats Washignton (4-2)
World Series:
Baltimore defeats Cincinnati (4-3)
Baltimore defeats the Reds in the 11th inning by 1 run. Greatest world series of all-time. (last part was a troll but I still stand behind the orioles to win the whole thing)
Feel free to post your projections and make fun of mine.
Here's to a great October! _________________

I dont understand how we (SF) are playing the reds the first round? I thought the wildcard cannot play someone from the same division in the first round. _________________ Posted September 12th, 2012

Huh? The giants and reds both won their divisions and the nationals clinched home-field... I don't see how you're confused. Unlike the AL, the NL picture is all but set depending on the outcome of the wild card game. The AL is just a mess. _________________

Unless the rule changed, Washington can't play Atlanta in the NLDS because they're in the same division. That's what he's saying (I think) _________________

Don't know if it still stands with all the changes, but there is a rule that two teams in the same division can't play each other in the first round. You have the Braves and Nationals facing each other. |

In previous years the wildcard cannot play someone from the same division in the first round. In 2010 Atlanta won the WC and philly had HFA and they didnt play the first round _________________ Posted September 12th, 2012

It said on ESPN that the Reds and Giants will play each other in the NLDS. Clearly there's been a rule change. _________________

Quote: | A revised playoff system will be utilized beginning with the 2012 season, which will add a second wild card team for each league. The two wild card teams in each league will play a one game playoff to advance. The winner of this game will automatically face the number 1 seed in the league in the Division Series, regardless of whether or not they are in the same division. Due to scheduling conflicts, the 2012 Division Series will have the lower seed hosting the first two games, while the higher seed will host the next three games. For 2013 and beyond, the Division Series will return to the 2-2-1 format previously used. |
yeah, you're right. Rules changed. _________________

Haha Delmon. It's so crazy it might just work! I love that guy's voice. Reminds me of Eddie Murphy's white guy voice. |
