I'm going to take back my statement. I think FS is the only weak position right now. Why? Bc the FO didn't thing Hagg could do it and young is no superstar.
Every other position can't be graded till the end of the season. Imcluding G and CB. _________________ 2013 First Ballot Recipient of the Joe Blackburn Award |

Most of the other spots that look bad are either to young players which must play to develop, or injuries.
The only exceptions that come to mind is #2CB. Brown has injuries AND is old... He needs to replaced. |
Do you not realize that every position in question is young? Like, less than 2 years starting/playing young. |
Not quite

1) Secondary - Seem to be having a tough time staying with receivers
2) Guards - Just don't seem to engage tacklers and sustain
3) Fullback - Ours makes Vickers look like a Hall of Famer
4) Wide Recievers - Too inconsistent
5) Linebackers - Need better overall speed and athleticicm
That is my list.
Peace!! _________________

They are the nickel and dime CBs when Haden is playing.
Cornerback isn't that big of an issue. Every CB is forced one spot up the depth chart which causes them to not look good. When Haden returns and the players go back to their original spot on the depth chart, all of the cornerbacks will look better.
Like I said, guard and free safety are the two biggest needs right now. There's other positions that could end up being needs, but the Browns have players with potential at those positions.

LB? Really? Robertson has played really well, especially for an UDFA. I think he should be the future at OLB. Fort looked good as well, but I'm not sure why he hasn't played much since the Eagles game. Then there's JMJ, who we're not sure what he's capable of.
Yeah, I don't see LB as being much of a need right now. Maybe it could be in the future, but I don't see how it is right now. Robertson should start at WLB and Gocong was above average last season. I know many like myself want to draft Jarvis Jones, but that's not because I think SLB is a big need. It has more to do with Jones being an excellent football player and he has the potential to be an elite defensive player in the NFL. _________________ Cleveland Browns Forum Hall of Fame Inductee |

That was the reason I quoted you. All others get a pass for being young but the guards don't?
I just don't understand why one would expect more from the guards as opposed to skrine or hagg or whoever just bc they have started.
As bad as some have made our guards sound, they are doing some things well too. _________________ 2013 First Ballot Recipient of the Joe Blackburn Award |

So Skrine and Patterson are the nickle and dime when Haden is on the field then who does that leave as the #2? Sheldon Brown our 23 year old super star?
Sorry to burst your bubble but there is no way around it CB is a need. _________________

Patterson was running the #2 spot when Haden was there and Skrine was playing over Brown. I don't see how anyone could be satisfied with our secondary. FS is a need but it would almost be like drafting for a WLB when MLB is a need or RG when LG is a need. If we could get a blue chip FS or a second tier CB give me the FS all day, but if they are projected even it would have to be the CB. |

I disagree.
Skrine and Wade have shown flashes that they can play in this league. They are worth letting develop. Patterson can play the slot with the best of them.
AT FS, however, there is no "flash". The FO lost faith in Hagg and Young couldn't keep the job from a 7th round pick. There is no one at FS. _________________ 2013 First Ballot Recipient of the Joe Blackburn Award |

I did take back my statement.
Robertson does need to start. He's playing very well. His coverage skills have been very, very good. Not much of a blitzer. He's an OK tackler (after re watching some games, he's missed a few open field tackles and TFL). I don't think he doing a great job with gap control though. Which I htink is a big problem for our LB's.
I don't expect Gocong to come back next year and light the world on fire. He's a 28? year old 250 LB that just tore his Achilles.
Fort is a backup. Fujita is a FA (although, he's playing fairly well right now)
So, I took back my statement b/c I feel that guys like Robertson and JMJ deserve the rest of the season before being judged. _________________ 2013 First Ballot Recipient of the Joe Blackburn Award |

While I think free safety is a big need I just don't see a top 15 safety prospect in the draft right now. Right now I'd go corner or def. end with our top pick. This could change though. _________________ browns and indian fan 7272
