they're scary good. |
It's a long season and the 49ers are going to have their ups and downs like all the other teams.
However, this was a huge loss for the Packers because they're effectively two games behind the 49ers in the conference standings and the Packers have a tougher schedule. |
The 49ers are making me a little nervous about my Super Bowl pick, but I was more surprised at their success today than at the Packers' struggles today.
Not sure why, but I'm not seeing greatness when I watch the Packers play. I wouldn't be surprised if they miss the playoffs, to be honest. I just hope we're the team to do the honors! _________________

1 Houston Texans 4-0
2 Atlanta Falcons 4-0
3 San Francisco 49ers 3-1
4 Baltimore Ravens 3-1
5 Arizona Cardinals 4-0
6 Chicago Bears 3-1
7 New England Patriots 2-2
8 Philadelphia Eagles 3-1
9 San Diego Chargers 3-1
10 Denver Broncos 2-2
11 Cincinnati Bengals 3-1
12 Minnesota Vikings 3-1
13 NY Giants 2-2
14 Green Bay Packers 2-2
15 Dallas Cowboys 2-2
16 Pittsburgh Steelers 1-2
17 NY Jets 2-2
18 Washington Redskins 2-2
19 Detroit Lions 1-3
20 Seattle Seahawks 2-2
21 Buffalo Bills 2-2
22 St. Louis Rams 2-2
23 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1-3
24 New Orleans Saints 0-4
25 Carolina Panthers 1-3
26 Oakland Raiders 1-3
27 Miami Dolphins 1-3
28 Indianapolis Colts 1-2
29 Kansas City Chiefs 1-3
30 Tennessee Titans 1-3
31 Jacksonville Jaguars 1-3
32 Cleveland Browns 0-4
Some people may say...whoa! Why are the Vikings only #12 and still ranked behind the 2-2 Patriots and Broncos? The Patriots losses are to the 4-0 Cardinals and 3-1 Ravens. The Broncos' losses are to the 4-0 Texans and Falcons. The Vikings' loss is to the 1-2 Colts. That's the explanation. _________________

Even after the victory over the Niners, I had the Packers over the Vikings. With their victory this week and the Packers' struggles at home (including barely beating the winless Saints), I chose to have the Vikings' leapfrog the Packers...although it was an awfully tough decision as I still don't trust the Vikings' success at this point. _________________

Holmgren being gone is not a huge surprise, considering new ownership wasn't fond of him, and he did not appear to be fond of them either. But, he was planning to retire anyway. _________________

From what I recall, Reid and Castillo are close friends. Perhaps this is a sign that this could be Reid's last season as HC if they dont make the playoffs. |

People here have been complaining about how bad the Vikings have been...but take a look around the NFL, it's mediocrity all around. For as bad as the Vikings have looked the last few weeks, here's where they and the rest of the NFL still stand in my Power Poll:
3. Chicago Bears (7-1)
5. Green Bay Packers (6-3)
13. Minnesota Vikings (5-4)
17. Detroit Lions (4-4) _________________
