You are reading that correctly, William Powell played more snaps yesterday than Ryan Williams did.
WOW. |

I knew it, I said in the GDT thread it will be interesting to see the rb snap counts. Don't really have an explanation for it but maybe he's a better in pass pro and they felt more comfortable with him out there? _________________

Must be. That's not a good sign for Ryan going forward. |

Wasnt Ryan something like 4 for 18 early on? Need to feed him the rock early against STL and see if he can make people miss.
I still have hope for Williams and feel for him running behind this oline...
Then again we've gone up against some elite front 4s.
STL, Buffalo and Minny should help that. _________________

We've faced the top two rushing defenses in football in Miami and Seattle. New England is 7th and Philly is 12th.
That's tough sledding for any oline. _________________

I agree with both points 100%.
Playing behind Powell just baffles me. |

That is weird. Powell only had two carries also, which was less than Williams, so the fact he played more more is indeed odd. _________________

The answer here is incredibly simple adn three fold;
1 - Pass Protection, from what I have seen Powell is better.
2 - No Huddle, Ryan Williams was not involved in the no huddle sets.
And crucially and most importantly;
3 - Special Teams, We only ran 71 offensive plays. Unless Powell and Williams were on the field at the same time for a good 15-20 plays, Powell got a lot more reps on ST's than Williams. I think Powell would have been close to 20 ST's snaps and Williams close to 0. _________________

Have to double check but Jurecki made it sound like these numbers were for the offense only. |

If it was then we have had two RB's on the field for 22 snaps and only actually run the ball 15. _________________

That makes more sense. 13 ST's snaps seems a little light for Powell though had at least 6 on kickoffs, but that does make sense. _________________

Powell was pass blocking all 2nd half
You could see him lose his helmet in one play.
Williams strength is not pass blocking, so he sits, fair enough to me.
Running the ball wasnt an option, due to the shoddy playcalling, pass blocking took precendence. |

Not really surprise as Williams was never really a great pass blocker. |
