Geno Smith consistently puts up more touchdowns than incompletions. Ridiculous. _________________

Dude did you see that last td throw? Side stepped the pressure than fires a bullet for a td. He's made every throw look easy. It's unheard of. |

I want him. Pure skill, don't care what system he comes from. _________________

Well we would have to tank the season to essentially get him at this point. But there are certainly a lot of ties that could show him ending up here or Teddy Bridgewater (in the following years draft). Both guys Schinao has seen (especially 3 years of playing against Smith).
But for right now we should be concerned with the redskins. Not Geno Smith. Is Freeman struggling, yes. Can he be resurrected that remains to be seen, but we are only in week 4, so before we spend a Freeman thread talking about other QB's in the draft. Let's focus on this team this season (on this thread) _________________

Dont get all wet, both of those defenses were just terrible it was like the Bucs secondary against the Giants out there _________________

I'm not over-doing it, I know who he has played. Fact is, he is athletic, but most importantly, is one of the best throwers in college football. Huge arm, incredibly accurate, quick release, and a beautiful deep ball. _________________

I was actually at the game today as I'm good friends with many players on Baylor(T-dubb is a good buddy) and it was one of the best games I've seen live. Geno Smith was amazing but the guy had literally ALL day to throw those passes. And he benefited greatly from stupid play calling on Baylor's behalf. First off, your pass rush wasn't getting there all day but he still decided to dial cover 2. Zone is prone to leave people WIDE open when the opposing QB can tie his shoe in the pocket. Anyway, I felt like WVU got away with a lot of holding. I felt bad for my boy C-Mac but that secondary was beyond terrible. Morton has zero ball skills, #22 is a joke, and the blitzes designed to rush Geno Smith left Baylor's safeties 1v1 with Austin in the slot. Just an overall lose-lose situation. Smith is good no doubt but I'll reserve judgement until he faces some better competition. Back to T-Dubb though, he will be a first round pick come draft day. After workouts should grade out as a top 3 WR and possible be taken in the top 15. He said he wants to play for the Cowboys though but that won't happen. |

I just don't see Schiano drafted an athletic QB. A pocket QB is what it looks like he prefers, i'm fine with us taking Barkley. I know people around here aren't big on him but the kid is one of the best to come out of USC, thrown a few 6 td games, the most 5 td games in USC history and i believe several 4 td games. Only thing is he can't beat Stanford, but hey Manning couldn't beat Florida so i'm not worried about that. Plus it doesn't hurt i'm a huge USC fan. _________________

| Quote: | On Sunday Countdown, ESPN's Chris Mortensen stated that "It's been mistakenly assumed (Matt Barkley) would be the lock No. 1 quarterback for the 2013 draft."
Mortensen likely means in the public's eye, since Barkley has been mentioned in the same breath as last year's top two quarterbacks prior to the 2011 Draft. We feel the same since we have considered Arkansas senior Tyler Wilson a better prospect and now have moved West Virginia's Geno Smith ahead. And that is only considering the seniors. Barkley is in total command of USC's offense, but aside from his placement and touch he does not offer any outstanding traits. Sep. 30 - 11:41 am et |
You done? How many USC qb's must fail in order for u USC fans to stop? Like its never happened. |
