My Seven would be...
1. TIM BROWN - WR
2. LARRY ALLEN - OL*
3. JONATHAN OGDEN - OT*
4. CHARLES HALEY - DL
5. WARREN SAPP - DL*
6. BILL PARCELLS - HC
7. GIL BRANDT - Front Office
And yes, I realize that won't happen.

Larry Allen is more than likely first-ballot. I'd love to see Harvey Martin finally inducted, but doubt it happens. _________________

I think Allen is the only Cowboy to get in next year.. although Haley has ann outside chance... Parcells has a good shot as well but I don't really consider him a Cowboy..
It will be interesting to see if Larry Allen and Jonathan Ogden both get in 1st ballot being both are O linemen. Both are probably deserving but I think Allen has the edge if push comes to shove. Chris Carter and Tim Brown are both deserving and I think 1 will get in this year but I am not sure BOTH will. I think Carter has the edge. I also think Steve Sabol gets in as a contributor.. well deserved IMO.
Cowboy fans always bring up names like Drew Pearson, Too Tall Jones, Harvey Martin and Cliff Harris for HOF and I agree but one Cowboy who never gets mentioned is Everson Walls. Walls led the league in INTs 3 times and is second only to HOFer Mel Renfro for Cowboys all time INTs. He has 57 career INTs which puts him just outside the NFLs top 10 all time leaders. He was an All Pro once and Pro Bowler 4 times.
Walls was also a major contributor with the 1990 New York Giants defense, leading the team with 6 INTs and helped lead that team to a SUPER BOWL WIN. You would think he would get more mention during HOF election week but you never hear his name mentioned.. its a shame really..
I am NOT saying that WALLS deserves to be in I am only saying he should at least be talked about and he is NOT. |
