Mistral Raymond will be out for the next three to five weeks because of a dislocated ankle. Raymond's timetable was estimated after he visited a specialist this week to evaluate the seriousness of the injury he suffered Sunday.

So Sanford will be a starter for about 5 weeks then, huh?
Whats our schedule look like again?
At Detroit
Tennessee
at Washington
Arizona
Tampa Bay (TNF)
Well, out of those 5, I think Stafford/Hill and RG3 will give us the toughest time.
But it doesn't matter. Cover Zero can't cover. Just tackle well/play ST. _________________

I'd expect him to miss all five, because that Thursday game off gives an extra three days to prepare for the next game. _________________

I am glad that Raymond wont miss much time. I hope they can get Robert blanton out there, I personally think he has starting potential.
An outside the box option at Safety could be AJ Jefferson or Brandon Burton. They both have the size and probably are on par with Raymond in terms of being physical in run support. Just though I would throw two names out there outside of the usual Safetys.
I expect Blanton to get his first playing time of the year against Detroit. |

Only other changes -- TE Kyle Rudolph (quad) from DNP to limited and Andrew Sendejo (ankle) from limited to DNP. #Vikings
Looks like our safety depth could be even thinner. _________________

Man this injury worries me.
Especially this week facing Megatron. If he gets passed Cook a couple times we could be in danger of giving up some big plays if the pass rush can't get there cause Sanford could cover a girl scout.
If I were Alan Williams I would dial up some extra blitzes this week and try to make sure there isn't time for Calvin to get deep. |

I have a feeling this could get ugly.
I really, really, really hope our coaches realize Sanford sucks, and give Robert Blanton some time on defense. He cannot possibly be worse than Cover Zero. _________________

Cover Zero is pretty good near the LOS. I mean damn, the guy saved our win vs. the 49ers by forcing that fumble.
Up until now, Harrison Smith has been most effective down at the LOS as well. It'll be interesting to see how he deals with more deep assignments. _________________

| ^ I agree, I think Sanford should be the SS in Cover 3 looks with Harrison Smith patrolling deep. Sanford isnt a horrible player if he can play down hill and around the LOS. |

Fine by me
Tyrell Johnson makes a lot of sense, he knows the system. At this point, I would rather see what Robert blanton can offer at Safety, but there is no question, this team needs Safety depth until Raymond can play. |

I also want to see what Blanton has to offer! Hopefully we get to see him some this weekend. _________________
