I'll say this in here before it gets locked.
I think the NFL is thrilled with how terrible the officiating is.
Think about it. The "real" refs are pretty bad too. What's the best way to have people happy with bad officiating? Give them terrible officiating and then just swith back to the bad officials. People are so happy that they ignore that the "real" officials are the same guys they have been complaining about as inept and crooked for years.
Same thing the oil companies do with gas prices. If they want to raise the price a quarter they raise it a dollar and then a month or two later drop it seventy five cents. People don't realize that gas went up a quarter. They think "Ok, well at least it's not X amount anymore."
