Awful to see a player of his caliber go down. Not sure how the Jets are gonna be able to overcome such a significant loss. |

Terrible news. Apologies to all Jets fans (and, well, Revis himself).
I found this. I don't mean any disrespect by it: not laughing at an injury. Thought some would get a kick out of it.
The Onion Headline: Rex Ryan Announces Darrelle Revis Has Best Torn ACL In NFL

I thought it was a hilarious headline. _________________

Before the game, a Jets player literally said they were going to try to injure Bush. He got injured. You think he's going to have sympathy that a Jets' player was injured as well? _________________

Calvin Pace said after the game that the Jets "had to put him on out". I think Pace meant that the Jets could not have won the game if Bush stayed in the game. This is not a Gregg Williams situation. |

No one is suggesting that a bounty was placed on Bush, but the Jets clearly tried to injure him. Why in the world would he have sympathy for a member of that defense getting injured? _________________

I don't think they tried to injure him. I think they just acknowledged after the fact that him being out helped them win. |

They acknowledged that injuring him gave them a greater chance to win, and that making that happen was important.
This was a controversy for a reason. (Landry clapping his hands as he walked away from the pile that Bush was hurt under isn't a sign of a player that has sympathy for the recently injured.) _________________

Yeah. Bush should have a bunch of sympathy. _________________

Wait, someone had respect for Reggie Bush? I haven't liked the guy since he came into the league and asked for the number rule to be changed so he could wear #5. His reasoning? Because he was Reggie Bush.
That said, I don't see a problem with anything Bush said in that article. is he supposed to say he's sorry for Revis' injury and send him flowers or something? _________________ TF713'sGreatestHits Texansfan713 wrote: | •I'll make a bet. I don't expect Bush to feel sorry for Revis being injured. I'm sure no one on the Jets felt sorry for Bush being hurt either.
The only thing I take either with is it being "karma". It's one thing to want to take someone out of the game for a play or so via hard hitting, but it's another thing entirely to compare that to a season ending knee injury. |

Pace said what he said. Whether he meant it as they were trying to hurt Bush is irrelevant because Clearly Bush took it as such. Can't blame Bush at all for not feeling sorry for a Jets player getting hurt after what was said and done. _________________

Being as impartial as you no doubt are, can you advise how much respect you have for -
Rex Ryan talking pre-game about getting guys on Bush, getting him on the ground and putting hot sauce on him (itself a clear reference of Bart Scott's own words in 2006)
and Calvin Pace's blatant reveling in Bush's injury with the "I guess he did his thing for a qtr or two. We had to put him out, we didn't see him again"
(not to mention the delightful Laron "Head First, High Velocity, No Regrets" Landry's quite evident applauding of Bush being down when he leaves the pile. You can even throw in the comments Scott obviously makes at Bush while he's on the ground that clearly draw Jake Long's ire).
Revis done? Shame. I'd say Karma is spot on. |
