Where?
When? September 3rd, 2012 @ 4:25pm ET.
Television: Network Television-CBS---DirecTV channel 716
Radio: Sirius XM Radio: 93 & 91
Week 2 Recap:
Steelers: After a disappointing loss to Denver where the Steelers failed to contain Manning, Week 2 vs Sanchez began looking like more of the same, with the Jets moving easily at first against soft zone coverage. However, the defense shifted into a more aggressive bump and run and shut down the Jets in the second half, and completely taking the Jets WRs out of the game for multiple quarters.
Raiders: The Raiders' search for a win last week went nowhere, as the Oakland defense was completely carved up by Dolphins RB Reggie Bush, who rushed for 172 yards and 2 TDs on just 26 carries.
Last Meeting: Oakland Raiders 3 at Pittsburgh Steelers 35 - Sunday, November 21, 2010
Matchups to Watch:
Steelers Run Game vs Oakland Front 7
The Steelers have been unable to gain much production on the ground in the last two weeks, and while Haley's use of the run game has helped the Steelers in grinding the clock in games, the rushing offense is averaging only 2.6 YPC on the ground so far this season, 30th in the league. Oakland is coming off a game in which their run defense was horribly abused. It will be a very long day for Oakland, or rather a very short one for their offense, if their defense allows Haley's clock eating offense to find success on the ground.
Steelers ROLBs vs Oakland's O-line.
James Harrison will be out for his third consecutive game this season, and his impact has been very noticeable in regards to the Steelers pass rush. With Harrison's return this season and future with the Steelers beyond this season both unknown, Pittsburgh needs someone to step up as the OLB opposite Woodley.
And as all Steelers GDT must end...

We are playing the Raiders and Steve Sabol just died. I thought this might be appropriate. I love this NFL films.
The Autumn wind is a pirate
Blustering in from sea
With a rollicking song he sweeps along
Swaggering boisterously.
His face is weatherbeaten
He wears a hooded sash
With a silver hat about his head
And a bristling black mustache
He growls as he storms the country
A villain big and bold
And the trees all shake and quiver and quake
As he robs them of their gold.
The Autumn wind is a Raider
Pillaging just for fun
He'll knock you 'round and upside down
And laugh when he's conquered and won.
I predict a +3 turnover margin this game. Palmer is Palmer. Let's see if our young corners can cover some talent this week. _________________

Dont get too cocky.
I hate playing the Raiders in Oakland. We always seem to play bad there...even when we are clearly the better team. Traveling across the country can do that.
Steelers 27
Raiders 19
I see it being closer than most, but wont be shocked if we play like poo and lose there again. _________________

| I agree with 43. We lost to Gradkowski there; one of the worst played games in recent memory. My prediction: Steelers 21, Raiders 17 |

Happy Ending!!!
Anyways, great OP Bobikus. I really don't want to sound over confident but I don't see any way the Steelers lose this game. Of course, I didn't think there was any way they'd lose to Gradkowski in 09?? either, and they did!!
Anyways:
Steelers- 30
Raiders- 13 _________________

Gradkowski was a wild card that came out of nowhere that game. Carson Palmer is a known quantity, and not a very good one at this point. _________________ Geno Smith, Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, and Bruce Irvin will all have at least 1 pro bowl season each by the end of the decade.

Even so, Palmer is much better than Gradkowski lol. _________________

Losing to the Raiders would be one thing, but losing to Palmer again would literally make my blood boil, so the Steelers will win in a blowout out of concern for my health. _________________ Geno Smith, Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, and Bruce Irvin will all have at least 1 pro bowl season each by the end of the decade.

I think the Raiders have a couple big plays in them, but otherwise, the Steelers D shuts them down.
Steelers 30-14 Raiders |
