Bears worked him out today because Forte may be out a couple weeks. We may not have a chance to work him out. |
Maybe, but the Bears just re-signed Kahil Bell. Dont know why they would do that if they were going to sign Slaton. |

The dude is complete trash.
Such a shame, he seemed to loose his vision and confidence after his rookie year. _________________

Bears passed on him and chose to Re-Sign Bell, Highly doubt he blows the Lions away.
Shame his career seemed to take a complete nose dive. _________________

Coaching didn't seem to help him. If I recall there was some friction and Slaton wasn't happy with how he was being used? _________________

| the way he ought to be used is similar to Best in our offense so I think he might be a good pickup. But he's been cut and hanging around for a while with no takers so that scares me off more than anything - does he have a bad attitude now or is it confidence? |

Working out another injury prone small RB doesnt bode well for Best?

What is there to "buy"? If you take the time to process what you read before you reply I began with IMO which means its my opinion, it's not for sale and I could care less if you agree.
Best hasn't suited up since last October, still hasn't been cleared for contact almost a year later, is on the 6 week PUP list (at a minimum) and is going through this in a time of extreme scrutiny regarding concussions.
The fact that the team is looking for more help of the Slaton/Best type skillset points to uncertainty regarding Bests' future.
" Not buying it at all " justs points to ignorance or an overwhelming desire to respond in the negative to anything and/or everything anyone else posts. More than likely the latter since despite best efforts to prove otherwise I don't believe ignorance is the reason. _________________

Jim Schwartz said today that the lions need to run the ball better. Followed by this -->
| Quote: | Jason La Canfora@JasonLaCanfora
Steve Slaton not the only RB heading to Detroit for a workout ... Ex-Packer Ryan Grant is as well |
Also, Drayton Florence has an hand/arm injury and Schwartz said it looks like a "long term" injury. |

If they're going to sign one of these guys, Slaton makes way more sense because he's the quick type of back that's good at receiving out of the backfield, just like Best.
If he can even regain his 2010 form then fine; he was terrible between the tackles, but he at least had 44 catches out of the backfield.

They can't use Best for at least another four weeks. I'd wager if they sign Slaton, he'll probably get cut as soon as Best counts against the 53-man roster. Unless, of course, he's actually good, in which case it looks like Keiland Williams or Joique Bell will be the odd man out (specifically Williams, if Sunday's game is any indication). _________________
