Now hearing that Andoni Iraola or Javi Martinez could be the CB partner for Pique. Interesting.

Iraola would not be a good choice at all. He's purely a RB imo. I think Pique and Martinez are a bit too similar to play together as well. They both like to get forward and that could spell disaster if they were to both get caught out of position.

Bench most likely. Unless he had to run to the bathroom.

We shall see what happens. I think Pique and Martinez would work though.

Martinez has had a better season than Pique. They don't complement each other well though.

It could, but they both get forward and involved in the attacks at the club level. I can see that causing an issue if they play together.

I've got to agree. With the season that Adrian has had and the season from Llorente and Soldado I wouldn't bring Raul along, especially since Spain only plays with one forward most of the time. I still expect Villa to find a spot on the team.

Raul doesn't deserve to go over Soldado or Llorente. He's had his time in the sun.

It is a bit of a shame though, he was such a legend but never really got his moment on the international stage.

Villa ruled out. Called Del Bosque himself to say he won't be 100%.

Not surprised. I was hoping for some Ronaldo 2002 type of return though.

I'm really disappointed. I love Villa and was hoping he could make it back in time. I would assume Llorente or Soldado would get the nod now...
