I never dreamt we would hold the Panthers to less than 1 YPC. I didn't think even the 49ers defense could do that.
Still can't get over how good Barron and Freeman looked out there.
The second half is absolutely not on Freeman... He could have kept torching that defense if we kept our boots on their throats. _________________

On another forum I belong to, people keep crying over us selecting Barron over a certain LB that was picked up by the Panthers.
Well, one was flying all over the field today... and one was getting dominated by Eric Lorig.
Side note, Eric Lorig also beasted today. _________________

I was very surprised by that because Kauchely(or how ever you spell it) was a beast in pre-season and today I hardly heard his name _________________

Yeah, he definitely did beast in preseason. Carolina fans wanted to crown him as DROY before he even took a meaningful snap. But we can all relish with the fact that our 7th round pick, converted DE trucked him all day long.
Even with the Olson ball played in the 2nd half, I'm so impressed with our debut. _________________

Raheem was the only pro coach Josh knew up till Schiano. He is going to have picked up some things. As long as he makes good life choices and continues to play well on the field I could care less how he decides to structure his sentences. If anything this shows how much of a homeboy Raheem was to these guys and not a coach. Glad Schiano and co. is here. _________________

From Fox sports:
| Quote: | | The Bucs have a new head coach, but the defensive vibe in Greg Schiano’s debut harkened back to the franchise’s glory days under Tony Dungy and Jay Gruden. Defensive tackle Gerald McCoy was disruptive enough in the Carolina backfield to evoke memories of Warren Sapp, while the crushing third-quarter hit that rookie strong safety Mark Barron delivered to wide receiver Steve Smith was John Lynch-like. |
I know it was just 1 week and I shouldn't be too excited, but write ups like this aren't helping that. _________________

That gif of Barron breaking up a pass is a thing of beauty. He has great range for a big safety. I don't remember the last time that we had an athlete in secondary that could do everything that Barron does. Nice showing for the rookie.
A lot of good gifs from this game, I found this from the Panthers GDT.
Definitely reminiscent of the glory days. Cam had nowhere to go. _________________

That play was great for so many reasons. The aggressive play call, the penetration, the fact that the guys wrapped up and that Talib was covering DeAngelo Williams in case of a pitch, which could have happened and been ugly. So great. I hope we get to watch that same defense all year. _________________

| Great game yesterday for our Bucs. Especially for Gerald McCoy. He really showed what kind of difference he makes. Correct me if im wrong but when he was in the lineup last year we were 4-2. When he got injured we lost 10 in a row. That speaks for itself. Really happy for him. Mark Barron and Lavonte David looks like the real deal. David was wearing the mic helmet yesterday not Foster which is a bit of a suprise. Freeman played well but he def needs to play better IMO. I know that he had a couple of receivers drop a pass or two on third down but I think we had 3 straight 3 and outs to open the second half. That CANT happen if we want to be a contender. Overall great win and this really gets me excited for what we can do this year. GO BUCS!! |
