I hope we use Martez in the LEO role like Carroll has in his Seahawk defense. _________________

Agreed, I actually think I'm most excited to see how he performs this week. He's gotten a good amount of hype from Spags this offseason. _________________ RTR

Martez was a top DE recruit out of high school wasnt he? It might be back to a more comfortable position.
I'm excited to see how Ellis performs. I think he's due for a big year. _________________

From Mike Triplett:
Quote: | #Saints practice report: Marques Colston was back on limited basis with foot injury. Jabari Greer also limited. LBs Lofton, Hawthorne full. |

My predictions:
Drew and the offense will do well as usual despite the lack of Sean or Joe Vitt. They may not be as completely potent as they potentially can, as it is the first game of the season and they may need to get back in the groove of things; but I don't see this Redskins defense being ready enough to stop them, especially in the Dome.
The defense will be improved a bit but they're not fully healthy, and RG3 is a cerebral assassin at the QB position, rookie or not. I say he'll have a nice debut and he'll throw some TDs. But overall the defense will hold their ground enough to secure a victory.
Final score: Saints 34, Redskins 20 _________________ #JDI |

I think lower.
24-16 Saints .
Skins get multiple FG's but the injury and suspended Jackson will give the saints a Win. Honestly its much more even than it looks , Skins have the better D the saints have the better O etc But i expect us to lose. I wouldn't be surprised tho if Brees doesn't play to sharp than WSH wins if our front 7 puts up a good pass rush. No way will we stop your WR's forever or your TE. But our D is alot better than you say . We have play makers and we usually win week 1 and have a great ratio win in your dome. |

Anyone remember what happened last time we opened the season against a rookie QB in the dome? _________________

Sore foot, but I would count on him finding a way to play.
The dude's a beast, he returned from a broken collar bone in 2 weeks last season. _________________

I think Colston plays on a limited basis but he'll play.
With AA being released(finally) and Will Smith being activated, I don't think we'd go in short handed. _________________

I an slightly concerned about this game for no other reason but the Redskins have played the Saints extremely well over since Payton took over. And I think that they are better than before. They have a very good defense...and Shanle trying to contain RGIII scares me.
