Put it on record Chiefs fans! All the questions are answered. The 53 is set. The real bullets fly this week. Whatcha got??
vs Atlanta - Loss - Just too much injury to overcome right now before even mentioning Hali. DJ, Flowers, Toribio, trying to play less than 100% and Lewis is out.
@ Buffalo - Win - Getting closer to full strength with Hali back
@ New Orleans - Loss - QB edge to too big
vs San Diego - Win - Crowd drives a frenzied D to their best game of the year
vs Baltimore - Win - Riding 'Big MO' to another win
@ Tampa Bay - Win - An improved Bucs team hasn't improved enough yet
vs Oakland - Win - Coming off the bye week but no let down for rivalry game
@ San Diego - Loss - Recent trend continues and they lose on the coast
@ Pittsburg - Win - Haley inspires the Chiefs.. big upset here
vs Cincinnati - Loss - Trap game bites them
vs Denver - Win - Crowd in full throttle all game long - running game dominates
vs Carolina - Loss - Mobile QB problems show up again
@ Cleveland - Win - Rookie QB can't handle Crennel
@ Oakland - Loss - Raiders getting things together at end of season
vs Indy - Win - Rookie QB in Arrowhead - even this highly touted can't hang!
@ Denver - Win - Game played for AFCW crown, Chiefs play big behind Hillis
Final Record: 10-6
Derrick Thomas Award (Team MVP) - Hillis
Mack Lee Hill Award (Rookie of the Year) - Hartmann (largely on special teams after Lewis returns) _________________ In Andy We Trust!

I posted this in my NFL mock season thread in here that dropped like a rock. LOL
I am not changing any of the original picks, but after this preseason and especially considering the injuries right out of the gate, I am more concerned about the Atlanta game than I was before. I will explain the Denver losses - I can't explain, I just think Peyton Manning is going to be a pain in our rear end. Our revenge in my scenario is that we end up winning the division based on final records and not our head-to-head matchup.
Atlanta Falcons (L) @ Kansas City Chiefs (W)
Kansas City Chiefs (W) @ Buffalo Bills (L)
Kansas City Chiefs (L) @ New Orleans Saints (W)
San Diego Chargers (L) @ Kansas City Chiefs (W)
Baltimore Ravens (W) @ Kansas City Chiefs (L)
Kansas City Chiefs (W) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (L)
Oakland Raiders (L) @ Kansas City Chiefs (W)
Kansas City Chiefs (W) @ San Diego Chargers (L)
Kansas City Chiefs (W) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (L)
Cincinnati Bengals (W) @ Kansas City Chiefs (L)
Denver Broncos (W) @ Kansas City Chiefs (L)
Carolina Panthers (L) @ Kansas City Chiefs (W)
Kansas City Chiefs (W) @ Cleveland Browns (L)

Atlanta Falcons: WIN Toss up, but I think for once we start fast
@ Buffalo Bills: WIN We can never seem to beat these guys, but the taste from last year gets us over the hump finally
@ New Orleans Saints: LOSS We should by all rights win this game given all the turmoil around the Saints, but 3 in a row seems lofty, and Drew Bress is still a beast
San Diego Chargers: WIN I just don't think the Chargers are anywhere near as good as they were 2-3 years ago, especially if Mathews can't stay healthy
Baltimore Ravens: WIN I'm predicitng a down year for the Ravens of sorts ( 8-8 ) and we capitalize at home
@ Tampa Bay Buccaneers: LOSS We get cocky and get surprised on the road by a young and talented team
Oakland Raiders: LOSS It's in KC, so of course we lose this ONE
@ San Diego Chargers: WIN I don't think this team will lose 3 in a row, and despite our struggles against SD in the past, I just think this is a rebuilding year for them
@ Pittsburgh Steelers: WIN We pull out all the stops in the Haley bowl, and beat an aging It team that is still retooling for thei 2013 SB run
Cincinnati Bengals: LOSS I think Cinci wins the North this year as my previous picks kind of lead you to, and this loss is one of those things that helps that
Denver Broncos: WIN Peyton will pay
Carolina Panthers: WIN I think Newton has a sophomore slump, but if he proves me wrong again, I'll quit "hatin"
@ Cleveland Browns: WIN Sorry, still rebuilding
@ Oakland Raiders: WIN In Oakland, yes, the trend continues, and Terrel Pryor struggles in his 3rd start <spolier alert>
Indianapolis Colts: WIN Could be a big trap game, but should be no problem
@ Denver Broncos: WIN This game will be for a potential #2 seed in the AFC and 1st round bye for us, and we'll be all in for that, and Denver will be out of the wildcard race, and possibly playing Osweiler.
Final Record: 12-4 I realize this is EXTREMELY optimistic, but I think it's actually fairly feasible. This is my high side with reasoning, and I could easily see as low as 7-9 again with some injuries and general stryfe with the team, but I honestly see the highside more likely. Finishing with 6 straight wins is probably the biggest issue, but if you look at those games, and think about where some of those teams could be at that point of the year (Raiders benching a struggling Palmer, Broncos out of it and giving Osweiler some experience, etc.), I think it's not too outside the realm of possibility.
Team MVP: RB Jamaal Charles I just have a feeling JC is going to tear it up even better then 2010. There are only maybe 3 good run defenses we face all year.
Rookie of the Year: WR/Returner Devon Wylie It has to be somebody right? Wylie probably will see more time on the field then any of the others except Poe, and he'll be in a position that won't afford him as many plays. Wylie could have 2-3 TD's as a returner, which would probably clinch it for him. _________________

| Have you seen the numbers I posted for JC against the top rush defenses he faced in '10? The guy is crazy, nobody can stop him. |

I'm really torn on what this season will hold. After week 1 I thought 10-6 would be the worst. After the last three games, I'm back to my original thought that 9-7 or 8-8 are more likely. I just say this because our team has been very un-even thus far. Hoping that now that games matter we play a lot more like they do.
I'm going to say this, if we don't go 10-6 or better, we have no choice but to go hard after a QB. And Rage for the record, I think we need to no matter what, but I could see the argument made if our record exceeds 10-6.
I'll throw out one more predicition, I see our first pick being either a QB,CB or LT. And that is without really understanding who will be available outside of QB. I just see a huge need for upgrade at CB, and if we lost Albert unless Stephenson steps up and beasts...we'll need another pick. _________________

Better look at the QB position again. There's 5 losses right there.
This is a QB league and the Chiefs are trotting Matt Cassell out there. Not buying for a second he's anything more than a franchise paid backup. _________________

It really amuses me that Palooka called out Rage of all people on this. As we all know Rage is well aware of what we have in Cassel.
To say Cassel will cost us 5 games seems harsh. I don't think Cassel will be at fault for that many games lost. I'm not saying (obviously from my predictions) that we won't lose 5 games.
In 2010 Cassel with a less talented team around him put up 27TDs and 7INTs.
Since I usually defend you Palooka as not being a troll I'll ask you this. When is the last time a Raider QB put up near those numbers? I'll give you a hint, his name rhymes with Cannon, and it was a decade ago. Collins was ok in 05 but had 7 less TDs and 5 more INTs. _________________
