Cole Beasley: A True American Hero
By The_Slamman
As a forum, we recently honored an American hero. Neil Armstrong captured the imagination of a nation on July 21, 1969 when he stepped off Apollo 11 and onto the surface of the moon. For years to follow, young boys wanted to be astronauts and explore outer space. Armstrong won congressional medals of honor, was awarded honorary doctoral degrees, and even did commercials to sell Chryslers. He will forever be remembered for uttering those famous words, "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
Today, we honor another American hero who, like Neil Armstrong, also takes small steps. Cole is listed at 5'8" and 177 lbs. Many speculate that he is only slightly taller than 5'6". Simply put... if Cole was only 2 inches shorter, Matts would invite him to dinner and movie, roofie his drink and do unspeakable things to him.
Despite his stature, Cole has overcome the odds. Could you guys imagine if Neil Armstrong or Buzz Aldrin would have returned home unscheduled after the first couple of days in Apollo 11? Do you think they would have been permitted to return to outer space? Cole, not only quit football and returned home, but he came back and shocked the world. Cole Beasley takes his place with the other overachievers... fellow heros like Lynn Scott and Pat McQuistan who didn't give up when the deck was stacked against them. Who would have ever thought that a player could come along who could tickle the fancy of both the DCRA and the DCOA??? For that Cole Beastly, you are a True American Hero.

I just got through reading the last few pages of TACT V. I want to go on record that I do not own cowboy boots, a John Deere hat or a Jeff Foxworthy shirt and I have never dated one of my cousins. As for jorts, well, we've all made mistakes. _________________

Historical Facts You May Not Know

Presidential Musing #2
Which President was the youngest to hold the office of the President? And who was the oldest?
| Answer wrote: | | Most people instantly say Kennedy, who was 43 when he was inaugurated. However, he was not the youngest to hold the office - just the youngest elected! When President McKinley was assassinated and Roosevelt was elevated to the Presidency he was 42. The Oldest was, of course, Reagan who was 69. |

It took us 3 months and 27 days to finish last TACT. I believe we can achieve this in under 3 months.
