NFL source says no Packers cuts claimed on waivers by other teams. |
I don't know whether to or at this
Also Borel is back in our practice squad. |
We go through this every single year. People become enamoured with a few fringe players and think they won't clear waivers. Same ole story. _________________

the thing is we are supposed to have a strong roster and when players get cut teams should be hovering around to nab them. But when they are not...that's a clue that our roster depth may not be very strong.
tbf..most of the cuts were on the offensive side of the ball and they showed very little in preseason to warrant getting claimed elsewhere. I hope that ignoring the offense in the draft won't come back to hurt us because it's clear we don't have much depth.
at the same time im because teams are idiots for not nabbing talented players from strong rosters. However the truth is most likely to be very different and that we may have depth issues in green bay. the defensive side of the ball sucks and we invested alot in trying to improve it, the offensive side of the ball depth were poor enough to not even get claimed off waivers. so if we suck both sides....we could be in trouble when injury strikes. _________________

How about the Packers claimed no one, so every other team's cuts were just as bad or worse then the Packers'. If the Packers are so disproportionately weak on depth they should of been able to find someone.
There is no mention as to whether other teams were in contention with the Packers for some of the players that signed on the practice squad, you have to assume the team that had them all summer is the favorite to resign and we'd never know about those other teams. Considering the Packers cut almost no vets other then street FA's they brought in later in the offseason/preseason the rest of the cuts being developmental players not ready to contribute; who's going to claim a guy to an active 53 when they're still so far from producing?

At the same time, they said goodbye to linebacker Erik Walden and defensive end Mike Neal as they begin serving league suspensions.
Remarkably enough, not one of the 18 players spent even a game on the team's roster in 2011. Center Sampson Genus, Borel and Gurley spent all season on the practice squad, and Levine spent portions of the last two seasons there. |

A vested vet like Muir or Wells could still be re-signed after week 1. We might be waiting so we don't have to guarantee their full year salary. _________________

This thing is working out nicely for the Packers. If true about Gurley signing with the Vikes I'm happy for him. Much better fit for his skills. _________________

GB media making a big deal about how 6/7 of filled PS spots are offensive players, insinuating that the last player would have to be a defensive one.
Do teams actually care about that sort of thing? |

Not sure why. Gurley was born for that fit the same way Borel was for the Packers. Now, are they good enough? _________________

Lol. If we replaced Driver with someone who was 24, we go from 5th to 2nd. _________________
