Hey,
We just traded for him (7th rounder). I looks like he had ~35 starts with you guys. Can you give me a little scouting report on him? _________________

He does everything you could ever ask from an OL, except block. _________________

Unfortunatly, that maybe an upgrade. Our C is incapable of blocking... but also struggles at snapping the ball. _________________

He was the starting RT from 2006 to 2008, until Phil Loadholt replaced him. McKinnie was the LT from 2006 to 2010.
Cook is abysmal, terrible in pass protection and very mediocre as a run blocker. However, MN ran a zone blocking system when he was here and I figured he would be a better run blocker in a man blocking scheme.
Cook is probably best suited to be the 7th offensive lineman, someone who can play OT or OG. He is too tall to play C in my opinion.

well if he starts, you guys might want to introduce Tony Romo and Demarco Murray to the field turf, because they're going to be meeting and hitting the ground quite alot if Cooks starts. _________________

No. Bryant McKinney was the starting LT for the Vikings during Ryan Cook's entire tenure here.
Cook started at RT, but eventually couldn't make it as an interior lineman either. _________________

Cook was due to earn a base salary of $1 million in Miami. He possibly would have been cut later today, when the Dolphins drop to 53 players.
The Dolphins now have 10 picks in the 2013 draft. In addition to their seven selections, they have an extra second-round pick from the trade of cornerback Vontae Davis, an extra third-round pick from the trade of receiver Brandon Marshall to the Bears, and now an extra seventh-round pick from the trade of Cook.

but it didn't get any better with Cook.
for us, Cook was versatile, being able to play three positions, but not excell at any of them. and we'll always have a bad purple taste in our mouths as the Viking exec who drafted him, who was fired six weeks later, did so in the SECOND round. _________________

Its natural to be upset/bitter when you waste a premium pick on a bust. The only optimism we have is he apparently played decent as a center for the Dolphins. _________________
