Cooley has pre-season action to help his case. If you released him in the off-season, with his recent injury history, would other teams show the same patience and good will?
Arrington is an idiot. |

Arrington does have a bit of a point. Cooley is less likely now (this close to the season) because of the lack of knowlegde he would have there playbook, but I do understand you as well. I think Shanahan wanted him here but when it was shown Cooley couldnt produce to him old self they decided to go with the younger group. I'm hopeful we will sign him for a lil less money if no one else picks him up. I also believe this is what Cooley wants himself. He was so emotional about being a Redskin that I dont think he wants to play for another team. _________________

Great points, sadly I don't see Cooley returning though unless we had injuries. _________________ RIP SSF mike23md

6 teams that could show interest in Cooley:
1. Raiders
2. Cardinals
3. Dolphins
4. Jets
5. Bears
6. Patriots
Or IMO a small chance he returns to the redskins |
I would LOVE to.see him go get a ring. _________________

This...I love Cooley enough to see him in another uni (other than an NFCE uni) as long as he can get a ring. _________________

Quote: | Snyder “asked me if I wanted to beat up Bruce Allen. I said ‘Nah, Bruce is too good of a friend,’ ” Cooley said. |
I thought that was funny. I was just talking to a friend last night about Allen and how well he gets along with players.
Sorry to repeat but I am SO GLAD we have Allen and Shanahan here.
Allen really seems to have a way with players, remember that story about Chase Minnifield's dad and the (USFL?) I'm sure it wasn't Just giving his Dad a chance to play. I mean once he's on the team you still have to forge a relationship with the player.
Then when you pair that with Shanahan- it's like a scientist getting to work with Einstein. You deal with some eccentricities but at the end of the day you know aLOT more about football just from being able to play for him. And for all of his reputation about being hard the players who want to WORK Always, always seem to relish the idea of playing for him.
It really is a perfect coach/gm combination and I'm ecstatic that they both enjoy being in Washington. _________________

Why not 85? | Maybe, I wouldn't put it past Snyder to try to do a marketing campaign for it to scrape a little more cash outa redskins fans. _________________ RIP SSF mike23md

Go try for a ring, Chris.
Then come home, sign the one day contract, and retire with your family.
The real interesting question: how interesting would it be to have Cooley do the color commentary on the games? Yes, I know Sunny and Sam are there, but as much as I love Sam Huff, he's falling apart and Sunny's no spring chicken.
Alternatively, if you're Chad Dukes, do you worry for your job (Cooley & Arrington on the air together? Money)? |
