I got 2 or 3 long shots! Armanti Edwards P.Squad |
Armanti won't qualify for PS since he's accumulated more than 6 games on a teams full time roster. _________________

Meh, always a few surprises every year, I can see him overtaking Vaughn as number 3 RB. |

I don't know, my gut says it'll be Mare and Harris. I think we should use an extra roster spot for defensive line rather than Poole. Tolbert can be the 3rd RB if need be. _________________

I think we could end up rolling with 2 TEs and an extra RB. Tolbert can act as a TE in some situations with the offense we run. _________________

I kinda wish we tried to take a chance on Plaxico. He could be a solid number two, had a decent season with the Jets last year (and didn't cause any trouble in the locker room). He would have been a great mentor to our younger guys, and drawn some coverage away from Smitty. Of course, our front office is philosophically opposed to free agency. I understand you try to build your team through the draft, but contenders make moves in the offseason beyond signing extensions with their own guys. |

I'm worried about Pilares not returning kicks good and not showing a lot at WR either. If Adams can do KR which they are going to try this last game in PS he could be in trouble of roster spot. _________________

WIDE RECEIVERS (6)
Quote: | Locks (5): Steve Smith, Brandon LaFell, Louis Murphy, Kealoha Pilares, Joe Adams
Bubble (1): Armanti Edwards, Seyi Ajirotutu
Cuts: Lamont Bryant, Jared Green
When David Gettis was placed on the PUP list, it essentially assured a spot for Edwards or Ajirotutu. Ajirotutu has added value as a special teams contributor. Edwards' fate seemed to be sealed when the Panthers drafted Adams as their punt returner |

Tutu would be the cut when Gettis comes back from PUP. Not like he'll see any time at WR. |

My Projected Roster right now:
QB: Newton, Anderson, Clausen
RB: Stewart, Williams, Tolbert, Brockel
WR: Smith, LaFell, Murphy, Adams, Pilares, Ajirotutu
TE: Olsen, Barnidge, Hartsock
OT: Gross, Bell, Campbell, G Williams
G: Silatolu, Hangartner, Pollack
C: Kalil
DE: Johnson, Hardy, Applewhite, Alexander, Keiser
DT: Edwards, McClain, Fua, Kearse (may be cut when Neblett comes back from suspension)
LB: Beason, Kuechly, Anderson, Davis, Senn, Phillips, Onatolu, J Williams
CB: Gamble, Munnerlyn, Norman, Butler, J Thomas
S: Godfrey, Nakamura, R Smith, Pugh
K: Medlock
P: Nortman
LS: Jansen
I agree with most of what the blog said, but I think Sherrod Martin could be a surprise cut, and I think Darius Butler still has a roster spot. We'll try to get some of the other well performing DB's on the practice squad. |
