With safety prospects like Eric Reid, T.J. McDonald, Robert Lester, Baccari Rambo getting alot of attention - what do you guys think about Kenny Vaccaro as an NFL prospect? _________________

He's right there with Shamarko Thomas as my #10 rated safety right now. But that was with Tyrann Mathieu so that obviously changed.
Want to see a bit more this year in coverage, he has a lot of upside. Still think Tony Jefferson is much better though. _________________

Inside source tells me he'll have drug issues. _________________

I don't buy that he was a first round pick, but I think he is a good player. 2nd rounder IMO _________________

Hmmm, very interesting. Hopefully - if this is true - he can clean things up as he gets ready to take the next step to the NFL. I would hate to see a player of his caliber fail a drug test or make a stupid decision right before the draft. _________________

Can anyone elaborate on why he is a consensus first rounder at this point? I'd easily take Elam and Jefferson over him, Rambo, Williams, Reid and the Honey Badger too for that matter.

Personally, I like Phillip Thomas more than Vaccaro. _________________

He is very good in zone coverage and has shown ability to cover the slot receivers in man. He reads the QB and has good footwork. He is very aggressive in run support too, although often goes for big hits and whiffs at times. I think his tackling can be corrected and he just needs to be taught to wrap up more. His aggressiveness one his best attributes at times cause him to over pursue.
His versatility to play either Safety position at the next level and his ability to cover WRs, TEs, and slot receivers are what make him a 1st round pick in my opinion.
I wish he would have went to the Senior Bowl, I think he would have done well there. |

Doesn't he have a big list of off field issues? _________________
