Hey guys I'm looking for a fantasy outlook for Drew Brees
Is he still going to be the same Brees of old or will the Payton suspension and loss of Meachem really affect his numbers? I'm thinking about taking him 5th overall
Thanks |

I don't see his numbers changing much but I also wouldn't take him 5th overall _________________

Take him 5th overall..
Who else would you choose over him in that position? _________________

| Hoping for Rogers, then Brees. Will think long and hard if Foster drops |

I'd have to see who is available still, but Brees at 5 is pretty reasonable. _________________

Actually in drafts I've been passing up on a QB early and going the route of say Megatron at 5 and looking for Graham/Gronk at the next pick, and picking up Romo in about round 5-6. _________________

I almost always go RB-RB-QB unless someone clearly BPA. _________________

There are only about 2-3 RBs I like this year, and outside of the top 3, they can be drafted in rounds 2-4 _________________

Thats the issue though. If you don't take RBs early you get stuck depending on Doug Martin and Darren Sproles to lead you to fantasy greatness. I prefer to have 2 HBs I can trust, QBs and WRs are much easier to come by IMO _________________

Well WR's are hit and miss as well. But there are a few RBs I like that can be grabbed later, I do like to take one no later than the 3rd round and I'll look to get like a SJax or Gore a little later.
But if I'm not getting one of the top 3 RBs, I'm taking Megatron if he's there. _________________

| There is no way Brees repeats what he did last year unless the Saints find a guy to replace Meachem. Morgan and Roby cannot do it. I am avoiding Brees because I fear the last of a deep passing game. Its not good when Jimmy Graham is the teams best deep threat. I am all over Rodgers in the mid 1st and Brady in the late first. After that I am waiting for a QB like Ryan or Eli a few round later. |

You're forgetting about Henderson. Henderson is decent at getting deep. _________________

Devery Henderson? Joe Morgan? Both WRs are primarily deep threats. _________________

But over the last few seasons, Devery has been getting a lot more looks on underneath routes and intermediate routes. He has shown he can be more versatile, but his consistency lies with the fly routes. _________________

Completely agree. We definitely have guys more than capable of going deep though. We're going to miss Meachems run blocking more than anything IMO, guy was super underrated in terms of his run blocking ability. I'd actually be really interested in seeing how much we ran the ball/ran screens to Meachems side. _________________
