First, Syd Q Thompson is not making this team. We are not keeping 6 corners. I would bet anything on this.
While my wish is for Lance Ball to be the odd man out with both Johnson and Moreno making it ahead of him, you have to reward a guy who plays hard, and does all the little things even if he has no talent. Johnson is the guy I see being cut. As much as I know you dislike him, Moreno is making this team. Also not so sure Gronkowski makes it. What has he done thus far in camp?
We are going to keep 4 tight ends when Green comes back. This team will give Thomas one last year to try and put it together. He has too much potential to sneak on the practice squad. Green is also too good to be cut.
There is also a chance we go with 6 line backers and if Brooking's hammy continues to keep him on the sideline, I can see him being cut.
Finally, I dont see Unrein making this team. He is basically the Lance Ball of the D line. Either Siliga makes it ahead of him or we go with 8 D linemen- particularly since we have a lot of versatile guys on the line. Jackson, Siliga and Unrein are probably battling for one spot. |
As far as D-line Mitch compared to Siliga is non sense. Mitch First team reps Siliga 3rd team reps. Jackson and Mitch make the team not Siliga in my opinion. _________________

I really get a kick out of the Lance Ball hate because he really isn't as bad of a player as people think. He isn't flashy, but we can't have four scatback types in the backfield. Ball is a solid if unspectacular do everything back. Not to mention, he has had success in the offense running with the first team and has proven arguably more than Moreno on the field. He's not getting cut. I like Xavier Omon a lot, but remember, comparatively, he's done nothing. _________________

I think we absolutely keep 3 tightends...and I am personally hoping the Julius Thomas makes this team, even when Green is off suspension.
In a pass happy league, I also think we keep 11 DB. I feel like some of our Corners (Florence and Bolden) have the size to play the "safety" position in the nickel and dime, which we will be in 70% of the time. That 11th DB spot could change when DJ or Green comes back though.
Personally, I would try to sneak Green onto the PS. Not sure if he is eligible though. I have not liked what I have seen from him. |

Why would we keep Green on the active roster when he's suspended for three games? It would beoutright foolish for Fox to not give some bubble player a 3-game regular season audition and then make a cut somewhere when Green is eligible to return.

For the record, I wouldn't have a problem with that but I just don't see it happening. _________________ big_palooka:

Stokley should get cut in my opinion. All signs point to him having a rather average to below average camp. You rarely hear any reports about his performance. Jason Hill to me seems like a much better option and he's come on as of late. _________________

Camp aint over yet. During OTAs Siliga was running with the first team at some point. During the next few weeks, Siliga could still flip places with Unrein. I think Siliga is a more dominant run stuffer and has more upside. First team reps or not, I think Unrein will get cut. |

Since I am of the belief we will carry 4 tight ends, I went ahead and included Green in my 53. I know he will be on suspended list for 3 weeks before getting back on the roster. There are a lot of factors that could determine who is cut after week 3 to make room for Green. Injuries, poor form and other intangibles could make it any one's guess who gets cut after week 3. So I just made my 53 as if it were after week 3. |

I agree entirely.
Having been at camp many times I have seen Stokley do next-to-nothing. He deserves to get cut. However, he's not going to. Fox, who I think is a phenomenal HC, and his staff will throw Peyton a bone and keep his veteran friend. It's a mistake no doubt as both Hill and Willis are better players who are young and have bright futures but I do see it happening.

Beal seems to be a consensus to make the roster with Hunter going down.
I guess he is the player no one thought would make the team that does so.
His production in college was very good. I always look at on field production more than I look at work out numbers ala Mike Mamula.
I hope he becomes a long time end for us providing depth while averaging 6 sacks a season. That would be nice for a back up. If both Beal and Malik Jackson step up this year and continue to grow, I think it is a forgone conclusion we will not even attempt to resign Ayers.
Another McDaniels pick proving very underwhelming. |

Story: I train with a guy named Reggie Givens, he played at Penn St and then for 3 years in the NFL. His third year in the NFL he was special teams capitan for the Redskins. His 4th year he got cut. The reason is that his 4th year qualified him for a higher veteran minimum, and not matter how good he was (special teams capitan) they could still get literally 2 younger NFL players in his place.
How this relates to the Broncos: David Bruton. Special teams capitan last year and a decent player. It's just that his 700,000 minimum is really high compared to a rookies 390,000. I think he gets cut because of that minimum. _________________
