vs.
Started this thread so the TC thread wouldn't get clogged. Also added a poll just for fun. Let the battle begin. _________________

Both QBs looked sharp tonight, but I was really impressed with Jake Locker, who finished 10-14 in team drills. Showed poise and zip on ball |

Anyone who knows anything about the Titans says it's a true competition. Don't believe the [inappropriate/removed] that random media tells you. |

Hass will start. Depending on his performance...he may go deep into the season. Throwing for 3500 yrds last year has put him in the lead spot imo. I believe Munch and the staff are looking to see what a full off season and TC under his belt can do. What if he starts against NE and the Titans win? Could one game change your attitudes? _________________

I think a lot of Titans fans would like to see Locker start, but most of us know it will probably be Hass. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, he's solid and experienced and you know what you're getting with him. Locker has a very high ceiling, but probably a lower basement as well. Hass to start but his job will be on the ropes the whole season. _________________ Adopt-A-Titan:, Kenny Britt & Coty Sensabaugh |

Win, lose, or draw against NE is irrelevant to my opinion. Every snap Hass takes is taken away from Locker's growth as an NFL QB. It's nothing personal, and if we didn't have Locker waiting I'd be all about Hass. But as it stands, he's just in the way. Locker needs to get in the game and face real defenses with real consequences on the line. |

One instance in one game proved that?
Bill Belichick made a bad decision vs the Colts going for it on 4th down.
That must mean he always makes bad decisions. |

Call me crazy, but I actually believe the job will go to the guy who does the best in camp.
What an absolutely asinine stance to take, eh? _________________

I think we'll hear all summer about how great Locker looks from the media, but the coaches will go with Hasselbeck. Everyone will be outraged because we read tweets and thus we are clearly better suited to make this decision than the people who are with both men every day. It's okay though, Locker will get his chance eventually. I just want him to be as prepared as possible, all the coaches should be thinking is what's best for Locker long term. And if that means another year of Hasselbeck, so be it. I like Hasselbeck and think we can be a playoff team with either QB this year. _________________

Depends. Do we want a legit shot at th playoffs and make some noise? Then let Locker go do his thing.
If we want a 8-8 record or worse, for draft positioning, then let's start Hasselsuck until we are far enough out of contention. _________________

Then why did Munchak even say it was an open competition to begin with? To just hear himself talk?
If he has every intention of going with the incumbent, then why not just say that from the get go? What possible gain is there by announcing a QB competition, when there actually isn't one? I don't understand your logic there. Seems to me that if Munch was dead set on Hasselbeck, it would make things much more convenient for everyone if he had just said so; Because there literally isn't a team in the league that likes going into the offseason and training camp not knowing who their QB will be.
Plus, I mean it's not just Munchak saying these things. Seems like everyone close to the organization agrees that it is, indeed, a competition. _________________
