Camp officially starts tomorrow.
Starting off with the bad news delivered by the great Eric Allen :
Quote: | #EA G Terrence Campbell, LB Demario Davis, S LaRon Landry and WR Jordan White were placed on active PUP. |
I look forward to see how our rookies and sophomores perform. I expect to see big improvements from Wilkerson, Ellis, and Kerley.

TRAINING CAMP BATTLES
#2/3/4 WR:
Stephen Hill
The rookie second round pick out of Georgia Tech seems to be the early favorite for the #2 spot. The rookie is the best big play threat on the team and can be a future star for the Jets. All eyes should be on Stephen Hill throughout the preseason.
Positives: Insane potential; great size and speed combo
Negatives: Very raw
Chaz Schilens
The fifth-year veteran has always been viewed as a breakout candidate in his days in Oakland, but was always held back by injuries. He follows WR coach Sanjay Lal to the Jets. If Schilens can stay healthy, he can have a huge year for the Jets.
Positives: Very talented WR; more experience than other candidates
Negatives: He struggled staying on the field during his days in Oakland
Jeremy Kerley
Kerley attempts to follow up an impressive rookie season as the slot receiver. Unlike Hill and Schilens, the 2011 5th round pick out of TCU has experience with the Jets and QB Mark Sanchez. However, Rex Ryan has called out Kerley for underperforming so far in training camp. He will need to turn that around if he plans on earning the #3 WR spot.
Positives: Experience with the Jets and Sanchez; can play the slot
Negatives: Unimpressive TC; doesn't have same potential as Hill and Schilens
Other Candidates: Patrick Turner, Jordan White, Royce Pollard, Raymond Webber
Reserved for future TC battles.

Same here. A promising season just went down the drain. |

Cant say im surprised because its the Mets, but this team was seriously so exciting to watch and to root for. It really does suck being a mets/jets. _________________

I'm going to be looking out for a lot of players this training camp. Mainly the runningbacks . Make or break year for Joe Mcknight, See if Powell is any good at all, I really like Ganaway, and see if Greene is ready for the season.
I'm going to watch: Schilens, Kerly, Dowtin, Steed, Ellis, Vakapuna, R.Sapp, Royce Pollard, and all the draft picks.
I hope Landry isn't out for to long. The battle for the safety position is going to be interesting. _________________

Landry better get his stuff together. We need some talent in the secondary. _________________

Too bad he isn't exactly known for his coverage skills; which is really what our D was missing last year (at the safety position anyways).
I know he'll be better and more intimidating (to guys crossing the middle) than Eric Smith (eh, to be fair, Smith is a hard hitter too, just not nearly as athletic), but even if he somehow returns to form we still have holes at the safety position. _________________ JetsfanDan on Point: Jetsfandan423 wrote: | The DMV is the worst place ever. A bullpen as bad as they have reuined the psyche of the young team. That is all on Alderson. He brought in all these castoffs.
Sandy better hope Wheeler becomes a legit #1. Currently that is all he has working for him
So much is riding on Harvey tonight. We'll see if he can be a servicable starter.
Back to the Jets. I feel this year will be a great season. The D has legit potential to be tops in the league. Couples will make the teams that passed on him regret it. |

^Bueno, I'm kind of viewing the whole Landry situation skeptically, but I am excited to see how he does in camp and what he can bring to the table for us.
I mean if he's healthy there's no way he can be worse than Eric Smith... _________________ JetsfanDan on Point: Jetsfandan423 wrote: | The DMV is the worst place ever. They are even more unpopular than Manish. |

Wish we had kept Jim and cut Eric. I don't like Smith at all. And atleast Jim adds depth to the return game.
We need major help in the return game, hopefully Hill will get the job done. But I don't want our star rookie WR at risk returning kicks either. _________________

We should have McKnight returning kicks and Kerley returning punts. |
