Nacho wants everyone to compete each season. A team tanking takes away the fun and excitement out of it. I understand what Harper did... But I think he still should have played his best players. Dunno if he'd still have the #1 pick or not, but I think he'd still be top 5.
I guess the issue would be that he's quit and losing intentionally, rather than at least try.

Exactly, I have no problem exchanging elite talent for picks, but you need to play the best 11. Why fight for expansion teams to only have them tank the year and make this year pointless. _________________

How is that fair?
I think my 1 alternate PS/bench spot is a good idea as it allows for that one star player to be benched NOT so he can be kept for 1 tag but so it is allowable to bench a CRAP STARTER.
The SIM is not always going to have a star player play well. |
Well, I could edit the rule to make "blue chip" players able to be placed on the PS, but not be kept for 1 tag regardless the next season. |
Honestly, that's exactly what I'm suggesting. It works perfectly because it allows us to bench disappointing starters (who were kept) while not allowing the "bench cheat" option.
Like for next season, I might bring back Cutler and Palmer, both might be good option but Cutler might start out 1-3 with something like 4 TDs and 7 INTs and I should be able to replace him with Palmer if that situation arose. _________________ Legends Never Die. Maybe I was just getting a feel for how rookies would play, I didn't lose on purpose. It's not like I sent in ridiculous settings all year to tank, I was playing around and getting a feel for how things worked and I know what Clayborn and Kerrigan would do in the sim. I wanted to see how the high draft picks on my DL would do. _________________

I'll think about revising the rule to make the restriction that you can't have them count as PS players for Tags. _________________ With much cheese,

We're better off just putting this on the backburner until the season ends. I'm so frustrated with the whole thing right now. _________________

If you keep player X for 4 tags after season 5, if you want to keep him after season 6 he will cost you the same 4 tags whether or not he was on your PS or not. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

See... after thinking about it, I'm a little concerned.
For example:
I've spent a farm on getting Cam Newton. He's my quarterback this season, no question.
But (and I heavily doubt this happens, that being said, still a chance) what if he really, REALLY stinks it up his sophomore year?
I could potentially look at bringing in a quarterback via the draft to compete for the starting job. If I find the other quarterback to be better for the next year's 2 seasons... I wouldn't want to tag Cam for 8 total tags simply to get through next year. If I just cut him, some team could pick him up early, and stash him on the PS for 2 tags next year.
Just throwing some thoughts against the wall. Again, doubt it happens, but it's a potential scenario. _________________

Well that would go on your faith on Newton. I traded a ton for Chris Long and he was on my team for like 6 weeks....
If Newton has a bad season in RL, why would you keep him on your team for 2 NSFL seasons??
If you tagged Newton for Season 5, it doesn't mean you'd have to tag him for Season 6, you could let him go in Season 6 off-season. And frankly, if he had a bum 2nd season in RL and stunk it up in the Sim, why would you hold onto him so long? _________________ Legends Never Die. They Breathe Through The New Generation.

In hopes that he rebounds in year 3 and I get a return on my investment.
Andrew Luck, without playing a snap, went #1 overall in the draft for us. RGIII went in the top 10. _________________

That's just part of the Sim.
Every 2 seasons in the NSFL is a whole new ball-game to me. I know you want to see return on investment, but it's not like your organization is going to go bankrupt like in real life.
Also keep in mind you could trade Newton, and not lose too much.
Even with a terrible sophmore season I'm sure some owner would still offer a 2nd Rounder for him before keepers. _________________ Legends Never Die. They Breathe Through The New Generation.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!
GAME. OF. THE. YEAR.
Okay, after the win I'm less agitated but, something is wonky with the Sim for sure because, last two games:
Run Chance-40 (ran 76%)
Run Chance-45 (ran 61%)
I don't get it. I mean, these are seriously bloated rushing attempts in counter to my settings. Almost cost me the game. _________________ Legends Never Die. They Breathe Through The New Generation.

Side note, Pink Panthers has clinched the division.
3 game lead, with 3 games to go and they have head to head tiebreak over Majors. _________________ Legends Never Die. They Breathe Through The New Generation.
