Silence OLD MAN !! The Nation wouldn't mind seeing a makeover for this outdated, obsolete, old as you logo. Those concepts are cool, even the one taking off the mask of ineptness the last 28 yrs. The New Regime is in, let the new concepts in. The Silver helmet is awesome, at least it's more difficult to make out that dorky azz Randolph Scott looking joker. Even the upgraded black helmet would suffice if we just did something other than this lame azz busta perpetrating as a Raider on our storied helmet.

Our present Logo needs to WALK THE PLANK !!

Rodmoney, this is borderline name-calling and trolling. Please try to keep your replies respectful towards other posters.

(Putting aside my authority and speaking from my opinion, please try to be respectful of our historic logo and history of the organization. Our history is what makes this franchise one of the best in the league. General consensus around the league, fans and experts is we have on of the best uniforms in the league, partly because of it's nostalgic value. I believe you are in the minority when asking for a logo and uniform change for our team)

...and Totty, you know better than that. Let's all give this thread one more try on the respectful side.

Totty, I try to be respectable and I would not offend anyone here. I do expect respect and will give it accordingly. I know I'm controversial but nonetheless they are interesting topics to debate or discuss. I'd like to see a change in our logo, not our colors or even the shield. Just the nerd on the helmet. He has to go IMO. Even the Nationers in the Black Hole are more intimidating, heck even BagofBonz av would be an upgrade over that jokester.

You guys are just old and set in your ways. Those concepts are cool, definitely should be considered, the ghoul taking off that joke of a mask is cool, the grey helmet as well. I don't think Mark will do it but I'd be elated to see us go away from that dorky azz busta, it's not intimidating in the least. Arizona changed their logo do to how weak the Cardinal looked, couldn't kill an earthworm. Just like our "Roadside Ditch" wuss who can't beat himself. Update our logo Mark, your hairstyle as well Lloyd Christmas.

And just look at how changing that logo has helped them...

Logos, uniforms, colors, etc have absolutely no bearing on how well a team plays or how much an opposing team fears them. Would you consider a circle with 3 stars inside intimidating? What about 2 letters inside an oval? No, they aren't, but you bet your butt teams are intimidated to play the Steelers and Niners. I can't believe anybody over the age of 12 really thinks a team needs to have a "cool" logo in order to be respected or feared. Especially when we have one of the most classic logos in all of sports.

FYI, the Cardinals have won an average of 7 games a year since they changed to a more "intimidating" bird. Of course, their 2 successful seasons had nothing to do with Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, or Kurt Warner. No, it was mostly the logo Rolling Eyes

I'm all for what Seattle did and I'd like to see the new concepts come in. I wish that Mark would get rid of that "tired" as logo and at least go with the new concept if not change the logo altogether. I'd go with all of the concepts, the one removing the mask worn on special occassions and the "big" logo and the silver helmet as our home and away helmets. Several teams have changed their logos and they have actually won a SB in the last 28 yrs !!. Keep the traditional colors and the Shield somewhat but the logo needs a serious makeover.

No one cared for what you had to say in the thread you originally made. Please don't bump a worthless thread to further pound home ignorance.

And again, I have no interest in my Oakland Raiders uniforms looking like traffic signs.

No, we are just true believers in the shield. We respect the history of this team and the tradition set down by men not concerned with 'getting w/ the times' and destroying a great tradition.

Should we change out Lincoln on the $5 dollar? Maybe we can go over to Rome and modernize some of their paintings?

It's a matter of respect. Mark Davis luckily has respect for tradition and what his father built. If he even attempted to change the logo, they fans wouldn't have a chance to rip him apart at the seems, because the Raiders family would first. The great players, the coaches it's all a legacy in Oakland. You don't mess with them.

Should Coke, Pepsi, Lakers, Apple, Cowboys, IBM, the Olympics, Nike, Addidas, Yankees or any of the other iconic logos change? While you may not realize it, the Raider's footprint is that large which is impressive when you consider how poorly managed the team has been for almost a decade. The Raider logo is recognized worldwide. Changing the logo would in effect cost the organization literally millions in "name recognition". It won't happen, nor should it.

+1

There is a reason the Raiders have one of the strongest and largest followings in all of sports- even after this last decade of mediocrity (or worse). Its not all in the logo, but thats a big part of the Raider tradition. Some may say we need to scrap tradition- I say thats balderdash. The Raider Nation runs deep: former players, uniforms, "Commitment to Excellence", the silver and black, the Autumn Wind... these are all things that made this franchise, and they shall continue to be a part of it, because they represent all that is the Raider Nation.
