I need everyone to PM me with their email address so I can invite you to the league. This must be done by Sunday, July 23rd. This will also act as your official confirmation for joining the league. If you do not get a PM in by then, you will unfortunately be replaced. This not only gets me your email addresses, but it also shows which posters will be reliable in keeping up with the league. I want replacements to follow the same procedure, because you will immediately be filled into the line-up after that date. |
We will be drafting over the ESPN site at an undisclosed date/time. We can figure that out later.
Quick Notes
- This will be an ESPN standard roster. That means 1 QB, 2 RB, 1 Flex, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 D/ST, and 1 K will start with an unknown amount of players on the bench. If you guys are willing to do 2 more rounds to increase the bench by 2 players, I'd be willing. If you guys would like a league withOUT kickers drafted, that is also a good option to increase bench size. Let me know.
- This will be a standard snake draft.
- This will be a PPR league.
- This league will have bonuses for 400 passing yards and 150 rushing yards.
- You may start trading draft picks after you have PM'ed me your email/confirmation. Like I said before, if you trade a pick, we will simply have the original person make the pick for your team when that time comes. It really won't be that complicated.
- To make the former bullet point easier, I'll be opening up a chat room on draft day. All of us will have access to the chat room and can discuss more openly in there. I will close the chat after the draft so we can redirect all conversation back to the forums. This will simply make it easier/quicker to talk about which player you want someone to take for you if you have indeed done a trade. _________________

As far as the questions go, here is my opinion:
1. I'm fine with anywhere after July really.
2. I am strongly for drafting on the site. Gives us a lot more flexibility for everyone's schedule, gives us a little more activity over the summer, and is much more interactive. Plus we can trade picks this way, which is a lot of fun for fantasy drafts.
3. I'm down to set the draft order ASAP. The sooner we know the draft order, the sooner we can start trading picks (if we decide to draft on the forum).
4. I personally don't prefer IDP, but I do like PPR a lot. _________________

- When do you think we should draft?
The day after the last exhibition game
- Should we draft on the site or at ESPN?
ESPN
- I will throw the 12 current names into randomizer.com to determine the draft order. When do we want to make this official?
up to the OP, whatever his name is
- Does the majority prefer it to be a IDP, PPR, or any other funky acronym?
It's should be traditional. Nice and easy. It's our first time to doing this so we should keep it basic _________________

I like that idea a lot except for the fact that it would mean that we would start the draft soon and not be able hear about breakout players in practice or preseason. Just got my wisdom teeth out so idk if that made any sense. _________________

- When do you think we should draft?
I like to draft when preseason is over just so we know who makes the teams and who could be the breakout players.

ESPN

Sounds like a good way to do draft order i would do it now that way we can use the time until the draft to trade draft picks (if you guys wanna trade picks)

I have really only played in PPR leagues so thats what i like. I think recievers should be rewarded for their catches. IDP is up to you guys, It really depends on how you set the scoring for them because ive been in leagues where it is pointless b.c they get 3 pts a week.
Another thing i think we should do is have someone make a SIG for the winner that we can use until the next fantasy season starts.
Cant wait for this to get going i think it will be a good time as long as everyone stays active. _________________

For those that aren't too familiar with what a forum draft would look like:
http://www.footballsfuture.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=491463
I'll be pushing for this format. I think trading picks is one of the best parts of these drafts because it gives you a little more control of how you want to build your team and this style is much more conducive for that. _________________

meh, i think espn is just easier. I think we should do it the easiest way possible. Have i said that yet?
ESPN would be easier to keep track of, and eliminate work for us and you at the same time _________________

Well I'm not too worried about the work And ESPN has some serious downfalls with it. We'd have to line up a certain time that worked with everyone and you certainly aren't guaranteed of having each drafter active. With the format I'm suggesting, each poster would have a preset window of time that they would know ahead of time.
Also, this format is much more user-friendly for trading picks.

A time friendly with you guys should be fine by me. It'll end up being in the early morning (for me), which I should be able to make. |
