I want to agree but people seem to remember Reggie White more as a Packer than as an Eagle unfortunately. And I think he felt the same way Confused

#16: RB/WR/TE Pete Retzlaff (1956-1966)

Coming in at number sixteen on this list is an "oldie but goodie", Pete Retzlaff. The versatile Retzlaff was the jack of all trades for the Eagles offense during the 50's and 60's; proven by his ability to line up at: running back, wide receiver and tight end. Ironically, Retzlaff failed to record a single reception throughout his tenure at South Dakota State College, he would go on to haul in a total of 452 passes during his eleven year NFL career, all of which were spent in Philadelphia.

Originally drafted in 1954 during the 22nd round by the Detroit Lions, Retzlaff didn't see the field until he was sold to the Philadelphia Eagles in 1956 after spending two years in the war. His impact would be felt on offense, as he was sure handed receiver and a strong blocker. He was a key component of the 1960 championship team. In 1965 he was awarded the Bert Bell award as the NFL's player of the year. The 6'1, 211 pound Retzlaff lead the league in receptions during the 1958 season when he accumulated fifty-six passes. The Philadelphia Eagles franchise would go on to retire Retzlaff's #44.

Accomplishments:
-5x Pro Bowl
-Bert Bell Award (1965)
-Philadelphia Eagles Honor Roll
-#44 Retired by Philadelphia Eagles

Great work Mr. Incredible. I've been following this since you made the thread. Everyone so far deserves to be on the list. Even Jaws.

#15: OT William "Tra" Thomas (1998-2008)

Drafted early in the first round of the '98 NFL Draft, "Tra" was faced with high expectations immediately after his arrival in Philadelphia. After starting all sixteen games during his rookie season, and doing an adequate job at that, the expectations rose for Thomas the following year as he would become the blindside tackle for new franchise quarterback, Donovan McNabb; drafted with the second overall pick in the draft. Thomas would continue to progress over the next few years and develop into one of the best, and most consistent left tackles in all of the NFL. Thomas was a tad bit underrated throughout his career, with only three Pro Bowl appearances under his belt. Over his eleven seasons in Philadelphia, he would start all but ten games at left tackle.

Without a doubt, Thomas is one of the best offensive linemen in franchise history. Despite his outstanding size, he had deceiving quickness for a linemen. He always played with solid technique and good balance. While McNabb turned out to be a phenomenal quarterback for the Eagles, part of that very well can be from the protection he received from the offensive line, most notably from Thomas. He was always a reliable blocker and you knew he was going to be consistent year in and year out. You knew what you were going to get from "Tra". After his departure, the offensive line surely hasn't been as effective as it was during the early-mid 2000's.

Accomplishments:
-1x All Pro
-3x Pro Bowl
-Philadelphia Eagles 75th Anniversary Team

#14: RB Wilbert Montgomery (1977-1984)

Drafted in the sixth round of the '77 NFL Draft out of Abilene Christian University, the rookie running back wasn't expected to do much for the Eagles. Both sides would be in for a surprise as Montgomery would be named to the Pro Bowl in only his second NFL season after rushing for over 1,200 yards and nine rushing touchdowns. He would repeat with another Pro Bowl campaign in the following season as he accumulated over 2,000 yards from scrimmage, 1,512 of which came on the ground; he also reached the endzone a total of fourteen times in 1979.

Struggling to find a consistent, reliable running back were the Eagles teams of the late 60's-mid 70's; Montgomery served in that role and gave Philadelphia a playmaker in the backfield for the first time since the early 60's. Wilbert was a workhorse on the Eagles offense, totalling at least 200 carries in four different seasons; Montgomery also contributed in the receiving game, racking up 9.7 yards per catch on 266 receptions with the Eagles. He hit the hole like no other, using his combination of speed and vision to find openings and bursting through them. (as you can see below)

Leaving his mark in the Philadelphia Eagles' record books was Montgomery, shattering most rushing records while leading the team in rushing during six different seasons. These records included: career attempts (1,465), rushing yards (6,538), attempts in a season (338 in 1979), rushing yards in a season (1,512 in 1979), career 100-yard rushing games (26), 100-yard rushing games in a season (8 in 1981), and touchdowns in a game (4). Despite concluding his career in Detroit, Montgomery's mark left on the Philadelphia franchise will always be remembered. Although, you would have to think his records are in jeopordy due to the emergence of LeSean McCoy.

Accomplishments:
-2x All Pro
-Philadelphia Eagles Honor Roll

Moment: Wilbert's Run

#13: LB Seth Joyner (1986-1993)

The Eagles were lucky that they decided to re-sign Joyner after originally cutting him in training camp during his rookie season in 1986; as he would go on to become one of the best linebackers in franchise history. Using his unique combination of strength and quickness, Joyner accumulated 875 tackles with the Eagles, second on their all time list. He also contributed by getting to the quarterback and forcing turnovers as he is one of only eleven members in the 20/20 club for sacks and interceptions.

Joyner was the staple in the linebacking corp of the tough, physical Eagles' defenses of the late 80's-early 90's. He is known for his toughness and determination on the football field, proven by his Monday Night Football performance in 1991 when he recorded eight solo tackles, two forced fumbles, two fumle recoveries and two sacks, while playing with a 102-degree fever. That was arguably the best season of his career as he: tallied 110 tackles, forced six fumbles, picked off three passes, sacked the quarterback 6.5 times and also scored two touchdowns off fumble recoveries.

Ending his stint with the Eagles in 1993 after a Pro Bowl season, Joyner would play three seasons in Arizon, followed by a season in Green Bay and Denver. With the Broncos, he would finally receive a Super Bowl ring, which was well deserved. After the Super Bowl victory, he would retire. Joyner had many, many years playing at the very top level and his penchant for making big plays will go unmatched. The Eagles have lacked a linebacker like Joyner in recent years, hopefully DeMeco Ryans can step in and play at a similar level.

Accomplishments:
-2x Pro Bowl
-Sports Illustrated's NFL Player of the Year (1991)

Moment: Seth Joyner Leads Greatest Goal Line Stand of All Time
