I don't know why (Call it misplaced, blind optimism) but I am really looking forward to the NFL this year. I feel we are going to be an enjoyable team to watch. It will not be as painful as resent years. Can't wait until we hear Bernie's commentary during preseason too!
That is all

I love Bernie's commentary during preseason. Wish he did our regular season games too.
And I also have a strangely high amount of optimism for this season. I mean, I'm always optimistic about the Browns but this year I feel like I won't be disappointed with the product on the field.
August can't come fast enough. _________________

Ya know what, as much as I wasn't a fan of our draft.............it will at least be nice to actually see some players I am interested in on offense.
It's been bad enough we have sucked, but it's also been the most boring football ever to watch.
I would much rather ENJOY watching a team, winning or losing, than to sit there and watch paint dry on offense. _________________ NEW 2011 draft prediction.

This.
Not sure how many games we'll win, but we should be a much better team to watch on offense. _________________

I agree so much. I don't care that Weeden is 28 years old and viewed nationally as a terrible pick, as long as he can put some points on the board I'll be happy. I haven't been so excited after a draft before just because you know between Richardson and Weeden that we finally have some scoring potential on offense. Last year was so brutal. |

Right. I know if Weeden can be a middle of the pack QB, like 14-17 in the league, we'll win those close games where a flipping FG would have won it for us. How many of those have we seen in the past few seasons?
That is all

I'm optimistic but also realize our young players have to take the next step up. Seems our roster is getting more talented. _________________ browns and indian fan 7272

What position battles do we have besides QB?
FS - Hagg versus Young
Maybe at LB and RDE? _________________

Some of the battles aren't really battles. Most positions are pretty set, I'd say. My guesses:
QB: Weeden (95% chance), McCoy (5% chance)
WR#2: MoMass (70%), Cribbs (15%), Norwood (10%), Benjamin (5%)
RT: Schwartz (90%), Cousins (10%)
TE: Watson (70%), Moore (20%), Cameron (10%)
FB: Marecic (95%), Smelley (5%)
RDE: Rucker (90%), Benard (10%)
WLB: Fujita (50%), Maiava (35%), JMJ (15%)
CB#2: Brown (70%), Patterson (30%)
FS: Hagg (65%), Young (35%)
If they move Gocong to WILL, then that changes things. I hope they do.
It's possible Hodges loses his punting job if he's not healthy. It's possible Cribbs loses the PR job if he's WR2 or WR3. _________________ Cleveland Browns: We put the fun in dysfunction.

I think this is fairly accurate. The only thing I'd say is that Rucker was guaranteed the starting RDE spots by Heckert. One of the reason's he signed here.
And I also think (not want) that Fujita has better than 50% chance of starting. The coaching staff loves him. He has one year left on his contract. The coaches will let him have it unless he proves unable. |
