Adam Schein says the off-field distractions are piling up in Detroit.

I've never put much stock in Adams opinions. Obviously the Lions are easy to talk about with everything that's happened but in reality LeShoure and Fairley aren't cornerstones of the team yet and while Young had a nice campaign last year his production wouldn't be hard to replace.

To this point in their careers these are fringe players that so far aren't part of the core.

I would be much more concerned if it was Stafford, CJ, Pettigrew, Avril or Suh with legal problems.

Not only that (and I agree), but this really isn't a long-term problem... yet. If it dies off after this, and the veteran leadership finds away to reach these young knuckleheads, it will be a non-issue a few months from now.

As you said, the core really isn't affected. If these young players shape up, it isn't a problem.

As long as we have matthew stafford and calvin johnson as our leaders then it doesn't matter what the rest do.

I dont really see either of them as vocal leaders. Leaders by example, yeah. But leaders in the locker room, i dont see it. Those guys are Burleson, KVB, etc.

Core players dont mean leaders.

While I agree with the sentiment that core players =/= leaders, it's unfair to say CJ and Stafford aren't vocal leaders because we are not in the locker room. Vocal in the media =/= vocal in the locker room.

Honestly, I think this whole thing is getting blown out of proportion Rolling Eyes . LeShoure and Fairley are going to get suspended Shame on you . Young has already been punished, and I am sure that Schwartz had a nice Wink talk with him. I feel the character of this team will prevail Applause . Two jerks are not going to drag this team down Speak to the hand . Pittsburgh got through the Big Ben and Harrison debacles and are still winning Think . I am not worried in the slightest Cool .

Well one thing we do know is talent above all else can overcome any personal flaws this team has. Once we are winning people will forget suh has a need for speed or this team likes to smoke weed every once in awhile.

It was really an analysis based on their personality.

Guy can't even pronounce player's names correctly. It's the offseason. How are we in such horrible disarray when we haven't even played a snap? If we have a player get a DUI every single day throughout the season, yet we don't lose a game, is our lockerroom in "disarray"? I don't think so. It would likely mean that the team is populated by garbage, but it doesn't denote disarray. In fact, Titus punching Delmas was literally the only thing that's happened so far that's actually a lockerroom issue.

Also the players in question didn't play a huge part in the Lions success.

On a side note I hope the team rallies around these kids and players like Dom, Backus and Burleson spend more time with them.

Schein is such a blowhard. I remember a few years ago on Sirius, he was throwing a fit about how great Thomas jones, LT, Brian Westbrook, and Donovan mcnabb were going to be that year. They all sucked just like everyone knew they would. His opinion is worthless.
