If they made a Tim Saunders one of those everything would just say "goal mouth"
Also, you forgot Doc loves to point out JvR is a native of Brick, NJ. _________________

Saunders' OT goal calls are hilarious. _________________

Anyway, Congrats to the Kings.
Btw, I didn't think Bernier deserved the 5 minute major. I thought it should have been two. He turned and Bernier was coming in so fast he couldn't do much to avoid it. Just my take on the hit. |
I like Doc, but I agree he can be overly cheesy.
And the 5 was warranted. That is the exact hit the NHL is trying to clean up. But again having said that, there should have been a 2 minute minor on Stoll before that hit ever happened. |
The main reason I don't believe it was a 5 because Scuderi turned into the boards at the last second which Bernier had no option to do because he was skating so fast.
I didn't get to watch the game, but like you and many others have said if they don't miss the Stoll penalty and that game would be a TOTALLY different game and we might be talking about a possible Game 7 tomorrow, but obviously you can't change anything. I've seen hits from behind into the glass face first from the Kings and no call. _________________

I like Doc and the enthusiasm he brings while calling the games. He has a genuine passion for the game that I enjoy listening to.
If anyone wants to hear a terrible announcer just listen to Paul Steigerwald who calls the Penguin games on TV. It's too bad that Mike Lange isn't on the TV instead of the radio. He's one of the best ever. _________________

Jack Edwards is one of those guys you love to death if he's on your side, but hate if he's not. I personally love the guy to no end. _________________

That's a common misconception. The check does not need to be from behind to warrant a major penalty for charging or boarding.

You could also see Bernier clearly giving Scuderi that final shove as they made contact, so he wasn't exactly trying to pull up or avoid contact when he saw that Scuderi was defenceless. _________________
