| Quote: | | Ballard apparently failed the physical players were required to take on Monday prior to the opening of mini-camp. |
| Quote: | | Ballard caught 38 passes in 14 regular-season games for the Giants last season, his first as a full-time player. He averaged 15.9 yards per catch. Ballard missed the final two regular-season games with a knee injury, then tore his anterior cruciate ligament during the Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots. He caught two passes for 10 yards in that game. |

Ballard last year in his first season as a starter recorded 38 rec's for 604 yards with 4TD's... Was very surprised to hear this news. _________________ 44 and 21 Once a Giant, always a Giant

Hmmn quite shocked to hear this news. His injury must be much worse then what was initially reported. _________________

According to his agent the Giants have every intention of re-signing him. _________________

Interesting... I wouldn't mind Miami taking a look. He's probably an upgrade to Fasano. _________________ With much cheese,

I dont think its worse than what was reported but it happend in the super bowl so since it happend so late in the season he wont be ready till like week 8 or something like that. _________________

So does this mean Martellus Bennett will get a crack at the starting job? Seems like the right time for him to finally live up to the billing he got once upon a time... _________________

Its hard to say. The Giants did draft Adrien Robinson in the 3rd round.
If anything, they'll be splitting time.
Rough for Ballard, but who knows, he very well could come back late in the season, or as he says, come back for the 2013 season. With Ballard healthy, they have a nice trio of Tight Ends. _________________

He was drafted in the 4th round, and considered raw, Bennett will almost 100% start, but Robinson will be mixed in as a run blocker I would assume, and Ballard tore his ACL in the SB, he would probably start on PUP, but it's a bit surprising the Giants take the risk of waiver, consider they could probably cut some random camp body. _________________
