I wanted to wait until everyone's college finals were over before we got this going again. Hopefully now that summer is just starting for everyone, this will be a decent time to get everyone involved. This is usually a good time of year for events like this. And hopefully you guys have been thinking of movies during the break.
Basically, it goes like this: It's your job to make up a "mock film", in a way. You get to choose the director, and the cast, for the story of your choosing. Got a comic book adaptation? a book? an original story of yours? doesn't matter. You can do anything in this draft, which is why it's so awesome.
So before I list out all the rules and everything, how is the draft working so far? What's working and what isn't? What can be changed for the better? I'd love suggestions. Whether it be about trades, format, draft layout, whatever. Lets see what kind of basics we want for this go-around before we get everything started.
So lets start signups. I don't plan to get this started until at earliest the start of next week, but I'd like to get a good turnout. I'd like to get a big group going this time.
So all of you film buffs, come on down. We'll take anyone with an interest in creating their own movie, complete with a director of your choice and a full cast. Returning MaM Draft veterans, as well as newcomers are all welcome!

I don't know about anyone else...but I liked when we had the first round be only directors with its own randomized order, then another order for the actual draft. _________________

I've been away from this for a while, mostly because I didn't have time. I'm going to be working full time this summer so it's not like I'll have a bunch more time, but I'll be a little less busy so I should be able to handle it. You'll probably be making some picks for me from my big board, but that's ok.
I tentatively announce my return. _________________

That's totally fine, big boards are your best friend _________________

Here are the links to past drafts, if anyone wants to read up on this. Clicking on the draft threads is also a useful tactic for figuring out where certain actors are valued around here.

Yeah, I'd also like to see the director-specific round before the normal rounds come back. Just in general, it makes sense. _________________

I always liked it because it gave everyone a good idea of what your film was shaping up to look like. Plus, it made for the most realistic order in terms of the way film news is presented. I have no issues with the director round, but we'll see what the majority says once we fill up this signup sheet. I'd like to get over 12 people. I want to really stretch the talent pool. _________________

I'll have to skip this one. Currently out of town and even when I'm back in town I'll be busy with family visiting. I should be good to go on the next one though. |
